Hi, my name is Dinah. I'm a Bull terrier mix. I'm 5 years old and 60 perfect pounds. I've had a kinda tough life. I was abandoned on the street and picked up by the pound. Nobody came looking for me. I've been here 3 years and still nobody has come for me. This makes me very sad..but I put on a good front. I'm a really good girl. I m very active and love to play. I'd love it if someone knew lots of things to teach me. I'm ok w some dogs but I'm picky...and no kitties please.

Coppertone came to Pets Alive on May 27 as part of a recent hoarding situation. Coppertone and her 14 feline friends were living in a residence with no electricity, covered up windows, and standing on feces-lined floors. Coppertone, about 7 years old, is the first of the 15 cats available for adoption. She still needs dental work which Pets Alive will provide. Coppertone is still very afraid and cowers under her blankets, but if you give her a loving hand, she will purr. She just needs time to recover; we believe Coppertone will make a great companion.

Charlie was recently featured in a story on BarkPost: http://barkpost.com/good/dog-hit-by-car-with-limp-wants-adopted/
50 lb Charlie is a lovebug & it doesn't take him long to love you, roll over for belly rubs & give lots & lots of kisses! He loves his toys & while he gets along with dogs, he would prefer to be your only pet. Charlie is housetrained, knows "sit" & "place". He would be best in a home with kids 13+. He really is a special dog, he is the mushiest dog we have in our rescue, he just loves to love & has a heart of gold.

Meet Elijah! This incredible boy has been renting a room at the Brookhaven Animal Shelter for over 3 years now. He's looking to move out into a more permanent living situation. He's an active single guy who enjoys running, and playing with toys but is also content with sitting with you on the couch and watching a movie or reading. His favorite past time is getting his back scratched and will keep you warm during the cold winter nights by snuggling up really close to you. If this is your dream man, come meet him at:
