Butler Home Products!

Summer fun also means the season fleas and ticks are at their worst.

The Evercare line of Pet Lint rollers can assist in this troublesome - and potentially dangerous - situation. When checking pets for fleas and ticks, pet parents can gently brush the lint rollers over their pet's legs and belly to pick up some pests you
may have missed.

Keeping a Pet Lint Roller in your car or pet travel bag is a great way to get in the
habit of rolling them over your own clothing after a walk in the park, beach or
woods with your dog.  You may pick up a tiny tick and don't see it - but the lint roller will grab it.  You can then fold over the sticky sheet over the bug and dispose of it!

And of course removing pet hair from your clothing, car and in your home.

See their full line of rollers here

LI-DOG Pack Walk at Christopher Morley Park
Sunday, June 26, 2016
11am - 12pm
Christopher Morley Park
500 Searingtown Rd.
Roslyn, NY 11576

Come join LI-DOG on Sun., June 26th for our first-ever Pack WalkTM at Christopher Morley Park in Roslyn, NY. Located just one block north of Exit 36/Searingtown Road off the Long Island Expressway, the park is easy to get to, yet the trails are so well covered by trees and greenery that you'll forget you're in the middle of Long Island! The trails at Christopher Morley became dog-friendly just this past April when Nassau County approved on-leash dog walking in this park and three other county parks as part of a long standing commitment to LI-DOG. The trails, which start near the Christopher Morley Dog Run, are almost entirely paved and are on mostly flat ground after you navigate a small hill at the beginning. The walk will take 45 minutes to one hour, but there are several places to opt-out for those want to make the walk shorter. Please note: As a Nassau County Park, there is a $10 per vehicle parking fee on summer weekends for non-Nassau County residents. For more info and to RSVP, go to Christopher Morley Pack Walk on the LI-DOG website

Adoption Corner!
Coppertone came to Pets Alive on May 27 as part of a recent hoarding situation. Coppertone and her 14 feline friends were living in a residence with no electricity, covered up windows, and standing on feces-lined floors. Coppertone, about 7 years old, is the first of the 15 cats available for adoption. She still needs dental work which Pets Alive will provide. Coppertone is still very afraid and cowers under her blankets, but if you give her a loving hand, she will purr. She just needs time to recover; we believe Coppertone will make a great companion.

Charlie was recently featured in a story on BarkPost: http://barkpost.com/good/dog-hit-by-car-with-limp-wants-adopted/
50 lb Charlie is a lovebug & it doesn't take him long to love you, roll over for belly rubs & give lots & lots of kisses! He loves his toys & while he gets along with dogs, he would prefer to be your only pet. Charlie is housetrained, knows "sit" & "place". He would be best in a home with kids 13+. He really is a special dog, he is the mushiest dog we have in our rescue, he just loves to love & has a heart of gold.

Meet Elijah! This incredible boy has been renting a room at the Brookhaven Animal Shelter for over 3 years now. He's looking to move out into a more permanent living situation. He's an active single guy who enjoys running, and playing with toys but is also content with sitting with you on the couch and watching a movie or reading. His favorite past time is getting his back scratched and will keep you warm during the cold winter nights by snuggling up really close to you. If this is your dream man, come meet him at:
