Pet, Pet Related & Nature Events For Long Island, NYC, NJ, PA & CT & now Nationwide!
LI-DOG Feb. 2016 Meeting: Fighting To Walk Our Dogs in ParksThursday, February 18, 2016 7pm - 9pm Plainview-Old Bethpage Public Library 999 Old Country Rd. Plainvew, NY 11803
Are you Tired of Dodging Cars and Sidewalk Snowdrifts when Walking your Dog, while other Long Islanders Enjoy the Beauty and Safety of Public Parks? Then, come to LI-DOG's Feb. 18th meeting at the Plainview Public Library and find out how you can help change that! The fact is most Town parks in Suffolk and Nassau counties and almost all Nassau County parks currently ban dog owners and their leashed dogs. This is dangerous for both dog owners and their dogs, especially during the winter when snowdrifts block the sidewalks and we are relegated to walking our dogs along dirty and dangerous streets. If you're tired of dodging cars with your dog, come to LI-DOG's Feb. 18th meeting to hear how you can help change that! For more info email [email protected] or call (631) 421-4080.

Queenie is an awesome girl who is only about a year to a year and a half old. She is a tall girl who once she is at her full, healthy weight should weigh about 80 -85 pounds. This girl is beautiful and her photos don't do her justice! She is pretty shy, especially when meeting new people, but with a little time and affection, she warms right up. She is very sweet and just wants someone to love her. Queenie tested well with cats. She'd do best without little kids around until she gains her confidence back. Town of Islip Animal Shelter201 S. Denver Avenue Bay Shore, NY 11706 (631) 742-4991

#9413 Murphy, a 4 1/2yr old , M/N, DSH came in July 2015. Initially contained in a neighbor's hallway after being thrown out of another apartment, Murphy was terrified and unneutered with a fever & ruptured eye from an injury. After much medical care, surgery, and patience - Murphy's now available. He is SO handsome, very social and playful. He needs a savvy cat person as he gets over stimulated by too much play or petting - one does need to respect & read cat language.

Gigi here is sporting her big green bow in hopes she'll have the luck of the Irish and find her forever home! Gigi is about 6 years young. She enjoys playtime and the company of adults. She needs a home without other animals or little kids around, but has plenty of love to share with her adult humans. She knows most of her commands, walks nicely on a leash, and enjoys a good brushing. She is free to an approved applicant (standard application still applies) and she goes home with a bed, food, toys, treats, and a collar and leash. Town of Islip Animal Shelter 201 S. Denver Avenue Bay Shore, NY 11706 (631) 742-4991

Little 6 1/2mo. old Linda #0555, F/S, grey/white DSH is finally ready to go home! She came in as a TNR in mid October, went to a foster home for socialization and graduated this week. Linda is still a bit shy and timid of new things, but she is very sweet, playful and affectionate. She's not a big fan of being held (as yet), but she does love pets, toys, treats, other cats and will even be comfortable in the company of a low keyed dog. Linda deserves a great home with a cat savvy adopter - maybe you? Town of Hempstead Animal Shelter3320 Beltagh Avenue Wantagh, NY 11793 (516) 785-5220
