Live.Love.Bark Dog Rescue is collecting pet food during the month of November to be gifted to the Islip Animal Shelter and Adopt-a-Pet Center. Donations of dog, cat, rabbit and ferret food will be collected from Sunday, November 1st to Wednesday, November 26th. Donations can be made daily until 4pm at Islip Town Hall or at the Islip Animal Shelter. For more info click here.

STAR Foundation is an LI non-profit 501(c)(3) volunteer organization, dedicated to the welfare of domestic and wild animals. Our goal is to provide a safe haven for every injured or orphaned Long Island animal in need of medical care, rehabilitation, or humane euthanasia, and to return as many healthy animals as possible to their natural habitat. Adoption Corner!
Janell is a large, domestic short haired cat who is a about eight years old. She has been at the shelter since April 5, 2014. She is friendly with most people and enjoys a little love and affection but mostly is independent and lazy. She has one cloudy eye but it doesn't stop her at all. She would do best in a home without dogs. Her adoption is paid for by Live.Love.Bark and she goes home with a bed, food, toys and treats.

Jenny is a large female Russian blue cat who is roughly five years old. She's been at the shelter since June 6, 2014. She's a big girl and is currently on a diet. Amber #0630 is a lovely calico girl, who began her life with us as a tiny kitten and now sadly finds herself back after 10 years. Her original adopter must have loved her but when she moved to a new location, Amber was returned to us. Amber is sad & confused to be back in a noisy, overcrowded shelter without her home or her person. She finds herself competing against kittens and young adults, and can't wait to get out of here and into a loving home ASAP. Please consider adopting this golden girl who will be so grateful.

Macho is a three year old lamb in lion's clothing. All this happy and loving dog wants is to be with you and preferably in your lap. Macho's past was not a happy one and he ended up in a crowded municipal shelter. This big mush and volunteer favorite is good on a leash, calm and really asks very little. All he wants is a loving forever family of his own. Macho must be an only pet. No young children only due to his size! Please call us at 516-719-0808 and be prepared to fall in love!
