LI-DOG Pack Walk at Sands Point Preserve!
Saturday, November 21, 2015
11:00 AM - 12:00 PM
Sands Point Preserve
127 Middle Neck Rd.
Port Washington, New York 11050

Please join LI-DOG for our final Pack Walk of the 2015 season as we stroll the grounds of Sands Point Preserve, the 216-acre former estate of the Guggenheim family. This Pack Walk will take approximately one hour--there are opportunities to opt out for those who want to make the walk shorter--as we walk past Castle Gould and onto the wooded trails. These trails may be a bit steep, but there's a great view of the LI Sound at the top. We'll then walk down to the pond, out to the Sound for another view, then back past Hempstead House where we started. Please note: dogs are not allowed on the beach and must remain leashed at all times. Please do not bring Flexi Leads as we'll be walking in groups and people and dogs can get tangled. Also, please bring water and poop bags-as clean up is a must! Please note: Sands Point Preserve charges $10 per car or per "walk-in" unless you have their annual pass. This fee helps preserve this wonderful piece of Long Island history. For more info, go to www.lidog.org. Our Pack Walks will restart in the Spring! For more info call (631) 421-4080, email lidog_news@yahoo.com  or click here!

458 Hempstead Tnpk.
West Hempstead, NY 11552

Join us this weekend for a pre-holiday adoption event. Give thanks for all the good things in your life, and maybe even find a dog or cat with whom to share it. Come meet a few from our hundreds of adoptable dogs and cats.. All animals are dewormed, vaccinated age appropriate, altered, and micro chipped; dogs are HW tested and cats FIV / Fe Lv tested. Thanksgiving is almost here; it's a great time to be out walking your new fur friend or letting them enjoy the backyard and cooler sunny skies. Let a formerly homeless kitty blossom into your new indoor furball inside safely watching bird, squirrels and falling leaves from a window seat. Watch football with your four legged fan in tow. Everything is better shared with a pet! Please bring landlord contact and veterinary info where applicable, and contact info for @ least 2 unrelated references who can be reached. Gladys #7810 is a 9 years young Cane Corso/mastiff mix. Our poor elegant lady was abandonned and tied to a pole almost a year ago. We performed emergency surgery to save her life (infected uterus), intense dental surgery, treated an URI, and removed several fatty lipomas. She is fully vetted and waits patiently for a home. Gladys is very sweet, knows basic commands and gives paw!!! Gladys has lots of life left in her, so please consider this deserving girl today. To have survived all she has been through, her can not end her life as a longtime shelter resident.

Amber #0630 is a lovely calico girl, who began her life with us as a tiny kitten and now sadly finds herself back after 10 years. Her original adopter must have loved her but when she moved to a new location, Amber was returned to us. Amber is sad & confused to be back in a noisy, overcrowded shelter without her home or her person. She finds herself competing against kittens and young adults, and can't wait to get out of here and into a loving home ASAP. Please consider adopting this golden girl who will be so grateful.

Macho is a three year old lamb in lion's clothing. All this happy and loving dog wants is to be with you and preferably in your lap. Macho's past was not a happy one and he ended up in a crowded municipal shelter. This big mush and volunteer favorite is good on a leash, calm and really asks very little. All he wants is a loving forever family of his own. Macho must be an only pet. No young children only due to his size! Please call us at 516-719-0808 and be prepared to fall in love!
