|
This week's Pet Events Newsletter is brought to you by Bubbles & Biscuits!
Enjoy the season with Bubbles & Biscuits and join us for our 3rd Annual Halloween Event & Parade on Sunday, October 25 from 11 am - 2 pm. The Holbrook Halloween Parade will start & finish at Bubbles & Biscuits from 1 - 2 pm. We always like to have fun with a purpose and this year we are focusing our efforts to raise money for Live, Love, Bark Rescue. We will have a bake sale offering treats for people as well as Made in the USA treats for the pups with all proceeds going to the rescue. Donations and dog food are also appreciated. We are coordinating with Live, Love, Bark Rescue and their affiliate, Islip Animal Shelter, to hopefully offer an adoptable dog as well. We would love to help a dog find a forever home. We will keep you posted as the week progresses. Follow us on Facebook or www.bubbles-and-biscuits.com to stay updated or feel free to call us at (631) 676-6604 for more information. To learn more about us and our Doggie Fitness Center, watch on us New 12 Long Island Animal Island. Also, check out these fun pictures of Monster, the Frenchie, in the green room demonstrating FitPAWS. The Greek Goddess Athena is often referred to as the companion to heroes. Our Athena would love to be know as the same, however she needs a hero to call her own. She plays well with other dogs and enjoys people. She is smart as a whip and highly engaged with training, making teaching her new behaviors a breeze. Athena does have some special medical needs. She has elbow dysplasia, causing her to limp at times. Despite this, she maintains her cheerful personality and zest for life. She is pictured Trick or Treating for Toys! Could you be Athena's hero? Pickles, #8564, is in love with his look alike gray/white feline buddy. About 3 1/2yrs and 55lbs., Pickles came in as a stray in April 2015. He was neutered, vaxed, had eye surgery and taken care of as he had not been before. He is sweet, shy with strangers but when he knows you: he responds to commands, such as "sit", "come" and "drop it". A solo dog home might be best but low key dogs are possible. He is recommended for a home with teens and up! Pickles is currently in an office with a cat, and doing fantastic. ***ALMOST 2 YEARS in THE SHELTER!***
Berger, #3365 a 3½ yr old American Pitbull Terrier mix. This striking boy is nearing his 2 yr anniversary with us. He has gone on multiple events and handles the stress well. What is off putting for many is his size; Berger is a big strong boy. He walks well on leash, is obedient to commands but needs a firm, strong handler. He likes kids (not a fan of cats) but is not recommended for small children because of his size. Adopted twice and returned because of his size - Berger has professional training on board for his forever home. Town of Hempstead Animal Shelter 3320 Beltagh Ave Wantagh, New York 11793 wendcar@tohmail.org (516) 785-5220
