Islip Animal Shelter and Adopt-a-Pet Center will be hosting a Spring Fling Adopt-a-thon, sponsored by Live.Love.Bark Dog Rescue. The event will be held on Saturday, April 25th from 12 to 3 pm. Adoption fees for dogs and cats will be paid for by Live.Love.Bark. Local vendors, including food vendors, will there, along with a DJ, food truck, basket and 50/50 raffles, and more! You can meet our mutts throughout the day and for a $1 donation get a photograph with the dogs, or get a signed photograph, stamped by our pups right in front of you! Join us this Saturday, April 25, 2015, 10am-3pm for the 9th Annual Beacon Barks! dog parade & street festival sponsored by Dutchess County SPCA and Beacon Barkery that benefits local animal welfare groups, organizations and businesses. Please make sure to bring your 4-legged pal out. Also, we HIGHLY encourage costumes! :) (There will be prizes for multiple categories at 11:45.)
Beacon Barks! is the street festival for people who love animals, live music, great food, and having fun in the heart of Beacon. The event is free, and
anyone is welcome to participate in the parade. There is no registration involved to participate or any particular theme, just show up at 10:30am to line up! For those who would rather watch, the event starts at 10:00am, and the dog parade starts at 11:10 am.  During the day of the festival, members of DCSPCA, Beacon Barkery and Mid Hudson Animal Aid will happily be available to point you in the right direction! The Food Truck will be at Cliff St & Main St taking any and all dog and cat food donations.

Monmouth Country SPCA Dog Walk & Pet Fair!

The annual Monmouth County SPCA dog walk and pet fair boasts more than 75 vendors for people and pets alike! Visit rescue and pet information booths, live music, a dog agility ring, kid friendly games and activities, onsite microchip clinic, police canine demos, and much much more! All dogs walking or not must be registered in order to attend. Those attending with a dog must raise a minimum of $25 in pledges or pay a $30 admission fee at the door.

North Shore Horse Rescue will be hosting an ASPCA Help-A-Horse Day on our beautiful 15 acre farm. Come visit local animal shelters and merchants. We will also be having alternative equine therapy demonstrations including laser therapy, massage therapy, nutrition, and mental therapy. $20 per person admission. Best Friends Animal Society Pet Super Adoption

More than 600 of the city's most adorable residents will be available for adoption at the Best Friends Animal Society Pet Super Adoption happening Friday, April 24 through Sunday, April 26. The free event will take place The Altman Building located at 135 W 18th Street in Manhattan on Friday, 4-8pm and Saturday and Sunday, 11am-7pm. More than 30 animal rescue groups will have pets available for adoption at the event, including Second Chance Rescue, Bully Project, Empty Cages Collective, Staten Island Hope Animal Rescue, among others. Adoptions start at just $25, and all pets are spayed or neutered and vaccinated. All adopters will receive a goody bag when they take home their new best friend. Adoption Corner!
Sophie is approximately 4-5 yrs old and around 50-60 lbs. she is spayed and UTD on vaccinations.  Sophie is a playful, lovable girl. Sophie loves children and lots of attention. She enjoys playing with all sorts of toys. She would do best in a home as the only pet.
Sophie has spent the last three years in a shelter
and would just love a home if her own.

Onyx is a terrier mix approximately 3 yrs old. Approximately 70 lbs. neutered and UTD on vaccinations.  Onyx is a sweet boy. He can be shy at first but will warm up in no time. He loves to go on walks and adventure outside. Playful with toys but is happy just sitting by your side and share some kisses. He would be best in a home with other stable dogs and older kids.
