Call to Action for
 Kent Animal Shelter!
"On Wednesday, March 18th, the Pine Barrens Commission has scheduled a hearing to decide whether or not they will grant the shelter a permit to build a new facility on its current location. We need to get as many letters of support as possible for the planned project. Please help us in writing to the Commission or email Julie Hargrave who compiles the correspondence for the Commission and ask anyone that you know including all of the volunteers to do the same. If at all possible in addition to letters, we need people to show up at the Southampton Town Hall at 3 pm on the 18th of March for the hearing. The more people, the better.
Thank you, Pam Green, Kent Animal Shelter"

Adoption Corner!

Introducing Mimi, Georgia, Diego & Damon!

This playful pup seeks a new friend of the "outdoorsy" type to accompany her on long walks and throw the ball for her. She has begun basic obedience training at the shelter and so far has proven to be an "A" student. Mimi is friendly, gets along well with other dogs, and is eager to learn. Due to her puppy-ish antics, she needs an experienced adult companion dedicated to continuing her training.

This sweet southern belle has stolen the hearts of many here at the shelter. Sheenjoys long walks and her training sessions, happily greets all people she meets, and enjoys the company of fellow canines that match her exuberance. Can you give Georgia her fairy tale ending?

Diego is truly searching for somebody to bond with and has yet to find that special person. If you are somebody that likes going on adventures, or enjoys curling up for a good nap, you might be the perfect match for Diego.

Mimi, Georgia and Diego are available for adoption at:

Town of North Hempstead Animal Shelter, in cooperation with The Shelter Connection 75 Marino Ave.
Port WashingtonNY 11050

Contact Jenna at [email protected]

Damon is a 4 year old Standard Smooth Coat Fox Terrier who is looking for a home. Dumped at a kill shelter after his owner died, he was barely coping, so we scooped him up and put him in foster care. He is great with dogs, kids over 10, and dog savvy cats. He's on Long Island and waiting.

Damon is available for adoption with Paws Unite People foster based rescue
Rocky Point NY 11778.

For mor info on Damon contact Matthew Festa at [email protected] or call (516) 557-6488.
