Adoption Corner!
Introducing Kris, Remy, China, Skylar & Acorn!
Kris #7667 is a DSH, male neutered older kitten. At just 7 months, Kris' already had a tough life. Brought in as a young kitten with littermates after Momcat was run over, he had difficulty adjusting to the shelter and was very undersocialized. Kris has come a long way; he still would rather not be picked up but is very chill, playful, and enjoys being pet. He recently went to an offsite event where he handled nosy dogs, groups of people and a long car ride with aplomb. Kris likes other cats and would continue to evolve in a home.
Lovely Remy #7814, a sweet brindle terrier mix found herself homeless at age 7. She is now "working" our front office but longs to be back in a home. Remy is used to infants, teens, adults, other dogs - and adores people. She is house & crate trained, knows basic commands, and is even accustomed to bathing, grooming AND car rides! This dog sounds like the perfect dog for first time owners. We even think she could live with a cat! So please don't let this older gal wait any longer. Remy deserves her happy, forever home and soon!
Town of Hempstead Animal
Shelter 3320 Beltagh Ave. Wantagh, NY 11793
wendcar@tohmail.org (516) 785-5220
Sweet and gentle, our China doll lives up to her name. This beautiful girl is a shelter favorite; she knows all basic commands, plays nicely with toys, and eagerly awaits long petting sessions from her handlers. She happily greets all people she meets, but would prefer to grace your home as the only "dog-child."
SKYLAR This playful young pup has it all- looks, personality, and charm. He enjoys his outdoor play sessions, meeting new people, and has begun learning his basic commands with success. Skylar seems to get along well with all fellow canines and people that he meets- we think he'd fit in just about anywhere!
Why is Acorn still waiting for someone to love? It's been a whole year since this gentle girl was brought to the shelter as a stray! If you are looking for a quiet walking companion, Acorn might be just the dog for you. Once this shy girl gets to know you, she warms up nicely following our handlers around and leaning in for lots of petting. She takes treats softly and knows the commands for sit, down and more. Acorn would like to settle into a calm home with that special someone to love and call her own
China, Skylar & Acorn are available for adoption at:
Town of North Hempstead Animal Shelter, in cooperation with The Shelter Connection 75 Marino Ave. Port Washington, NY 11050
