Owners need to be prepared in case of an emergency and should learn how to care for their pet's aliments such as: scraps, cuts, injured paw pads and even more life threatening accidents or pet illnesses. This class is offered to pet owners, pet professionals, and anyone that wants to learn these very important pet life saving procedures.

Last Hope "Catch of the Day" Luncheon to Benefit Fix-A-Feral

This year marks the 12th anniversary of Last Hope's Fix a Feral Program which started in 2003 and has provided the public with financial assistance to spay and neuter feral cats in their Long Island neighborhoods. To date, Last Hope has subsidized the spay and neuter of more than 18,000 feral cats. Please join us Sunday, February 8th for a fun afternoon to support the much needed program at our "Catch of the Day" fundraiser luncheon. We will also feature a Chinese auction with a feral cat trapping theme and 50/50 raffle. Sponsorships of cat spay/neuters are also available at Popei's in Deer Park. Beat the Heat - Low Cost Spays for Female Cats

Kent Animal Shelter is offering a special "Beat the Heat" campaign sponsored by PetSmart Charities, the largest funder of animal welfare efforts in North America Through the "Beat the Heat" campaign, the Kent Animal Shelter will provide $20 spay and neuter surgeries for female cats during the month of February. This special $20 rate is even less than the organization's normal low-cost price and is available to all residents of Long Island. Cat parents who wish to take advantage of this offer must mention the "Beat the Heat" campaign when they schedule their appointment. This campaign is based on availability.

Winston is a 3 year old Arabian/Thoroughbred gelding. He is the perfect project for someone with a big heart. He has a great personality and just needs love and guidance. The possibilities are endless.
Sir is a 10 year old registered Quarter horse who was rescued by a friend from a bad backyard barn situation. His sweet personality and mild disposition makes him a great trail horse. Unfortunately, Sir suffers from a heart condition. Sir is looking for his forever home.

Wally is a handsome black male cat who is roughly two years old. He is pretty shy and scared at first and needs a calm home and patient owner. With a little time and love, he warms right up. Wally is neutered and up to date on his shots.

Ryley is about 1-2 years old and is a Dutch Shepard who's is full of personalityand sparkle. She very people-oriented, craves attention and petting, and needs to be fully involved in the family. She is excellent children's companion, lively, intelligent, and very alert. She has a special fondness car rides and walks.
