LI-DOG Pack Walk at Sands Point Preserve

LI-DOG will be hosting their 4th Pack Walk of 2014 on Saturday July 19th @ 10:15 am at The Sands Point Preserve. Please join us as we leisurely walk the grounds, trails and beachfront area of this gorgeous Gold Coast property. The Pack Walk will take approximately an hour as we stroll past Castle Gould, onto the wooded trails, which may be a bit steep and have roots and rocks, then over to the Hempstead House/beachfront area. There are a few areas to opt-out to make the walk shorter if desired, so ask your Pack Leader about them. Please bring water and poop bags! Sands Point charges $10 per car and $10 per "walk-in" unless you have their yearly pass. Hopefully this small donation to the Friends of Sands Point Preserve to help maintain this wonderful piece of history will not deter you from joining us. All dogs are required to stay on leash at all times and are not permitted in the water, building or gardens.

Festivities include: Love my Pet Fashion Walk (open to public $10 donation); Adopt a Pet Fashion Show (Free to attending Rescues); Featuring many rescue groups from the area! Awards Ceremony for amazing volunteers & KAS supporters - Awards given by our amazing supporter Michael Venditto for NY State Senate & founder Sean Martin (5-6pm). TWO YEARS IN THE SHELTER:  Benny #8834 is a great big lug: a 2 1/2 yr American Pitbull who has sadly spent more than half his life @ the shelter after being saved from a rough life on the streets. Police brought him in underweight and with many scars on his face & body. Benny is a staff favorite, and quite the ladies man - he also prefers female canine companions as a rule. Benny needs a safe, secure and compassionate forever home with a savvy dog handler. He has a grin that could make anyone's day, and he should be smiling always. Visit Benny at:
