Join us at our annual Bark in the Park and Adoption event!  Bring your lawn chairs and pack up the family for a day in the park! A day for every one of all ages with music, food, activities all day for your pooch! We'll even have various dog contests and great giveaways! No outside food will be permitted. On August 2nd from 5:00 -7:30 p.m., Matilda, the Algonquin Cat, and her feline friends will salute Broadway and raise funds for the Mayor's Alliance for NYC's Animals at a one-of-a-kind reception and fashion show hosted by The Algonquin Hotel Also, the Mayor's Alliance adoption van will be parked in front of the Algonquin Hotel from 3:00 -7:00 p.m, filled with fabulous cats for adoption. $40 per person entrance donation is requested  and reservations are recommended as seating is limited. Long Island Pet Professionals sets sail for a summer Boat Cruise and Cocktail Party Networking event being held for area pet professionals. The exclusive event will take place on Thursday, August 21, 2014 at 6pm and the boat sets sail at 6pm, guests are asked to be there by 5:45pm, and is leaving from Riverhead, NY behind the Long Island Aquarium. The event will include plenty of networking for pet professionals to mingle and get to know each other better. A Naturalist on board; A stop at the preserve island; wine, beer, bottled water, and lite cocktail nibblers too; and a swag bag for each attendee of the event as a thank you for attending! 

***A portion of the proceeds will go to one of our member non-profit rescue groups - to be chosen the night of the event!*** The cost for the Boat Cruise networking event is $60.00 per person for official Members of Long Island Pet Professionals and $75.00 per person for Non-members. Introducing Erin!
Erin is a 4 years young American Bulldog/Terrier Mix around 55 lbs, that is spayed and microchipped. She has been at the shelter going on 3 years and we have no idea why she hasn't been scooped up yet! She is a sweet, gentle, mellow and lovable girl who loves people and kids and also seems ok with most large dogs. Erin knows Sit and Stay, takes a treat gently and walks well on a leash. She seems house-trained as well. Since Erin is very food motivated I'm sure she can be trained to learn a lot more!
