Confirmation Sunday

Confirmation Sunday for our 9th graders who are affirming their faith in Jesus Christ as Lord is October 25th. Be sure to invite friends and family as you celebrate this important milestone in your faith!

Romans 10:9-10

9 If you declare with your mouth, "Jesus is Lord," and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. 10 For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you profess your faith and are saved.

WORSHIP NEWS

Music Recognition Sunday October 18th

Music Recognition Sunday is October 18th at all three services. We will celebrate the gift of music, the gift of song, the gift of worship itself, the gift of musical prayer, and will recognize our treasured musicians. You will be blessed with special music from our beloved ensembles and invited to sing along to favorites. Mark your calendars and invite a friend to share God's gift of music with us!

All Saints Sunday - November 1st

All Saints Sunday is November 1st when we remember our loved ones who died to Christ in the past year. A special litany will be part of each service, with a candle lit on the altar rail for each person being remembered. Please fill out the form in the bulletin, or call the office at 248-4211 with the name of the person we are remembering, your name, and which service you want their name to be read. The candle with their name on it is yours to take at the end of the service.

Consider joining this ministry that currently has 4 generations! Contact Ellen at ellen.hanson@aurora.org

Combined Choir: Rehearses Wednesdays, 6:45 PM

CALLING ALL SINGERS!!! Our new Combined Choir has started rehearsing on Wednesday nights at 6:45PM downstairs in the music room. This large ensemble is perfect for ALL, regardless of musical training, and we need YOUR voice! The grandeur, joy, and unity we experience during our Cantatas is breathtaking! Thus, we have decided to present a mini-Cantata on Music Recognition Sunday-October 18th! We hope this ministry will engage more singers while also involving our talented instrumentalists. Rehearsal CD's will be distributed to help learn your parts. Special thanks to Bud and Jeannie Patchin for making them.

Christmas Cantata Rehearsals Begin October 21st

Rehearsals for the glorious Christmas musical celebration begin October 21st on Wednesday nights at 6:45PM downstairs in the music room. ALL are invited and encouraged to join this multi-generational ministry perfect for the entire family! You don't need to have a perfect voice, just a heart to sing! The inspirational, powerful music comprises a variety of music; both traditional and contemporary. Rehearsal CD's will be available to aid individual learning. Both vocalists and instrumentalists are needed. The cantata will be presented on December 20th at all three services! Contact John Ivan for more information.

Attendance at rehearsals is required. Contact John Ivan at music@immanuellg.org if you are interested in participating.

Media Specialists

The media team utilizes modern technology during every worship service. We are so grateful for their incredible devotion and humble hearts. Positions include running the computer, managing the sound board, and operating live video. We are always inviting newcomers to learn the new system. Contact John Ivan at music@immanuellg.org if you are feeling techy.

Ear Piece During Worship

If you want an ear piece to enhance your worship experience, stop at the sound desk at the back the church. This new system works far better than a hearing aid, as it brings the sound straight to your ear - with no background noise! You can control the volume with the dial on your unit.

Large Bulletins Available at Each Service

Large bulletins are available. Ask an usher for a large print bulletin prior to the worship service.

Welcome Center Volunteers

Do you like to meet people? We are looking for some fun people to be on the Welcoming Team.  They will set up coffee and water in the Welcome Center and then greet and help connect visitors to members between services. Contact Edith Draper at 248-1861 with any questions.

Help yourself to the curriculum of 3 books on the table in the Gathering Space: The Study Guide, the Believe Bible, and the book "Think, Act and Be Like Jesus" by Randy Frazee. Pastor Frazee also wrote the Bible Study, "The Story" - which we studied two years ago. A contribution of $15 toward cost of the 3 books would be such a gift. Thanks!

Bring in any type of cross you would like to donate - new, old, bought, given and you don't have a place for it. We will place each cross somewhere in this building so everyone knows they can cross into this church with love always. Dig deep into those closets, cedar chests, and basements and bring your unused crosses into the office and put them into the box provided in Jeri's office. Thanks so much! Be sure to watch for your cross to appear somewhere on the walls of Immanuel.

+ A resounding THANK YOU to everyone who helped make the 4F's - Everyone is Welcome End of Summer Picnic a success.  It was wonderful to see so many smiling faces, some with whipped cream on them.  It is such a blessing to have our faith community, friends and relatives enjoying each other's company, having fun and, of course, with full tummies. A special thank you to those who were part of the committee from the get-go and for those who filled in on Saturday and Sunday as they saw the need.  We are blessed to have you!

+ Many thanks for your prayers, cards, rides, food, left-sided hugs, and words of encouragement as I recover from shoulder surgery. I am especially grateful for Mary Ann's partnership as she carries an extra load during my rehab. The healing process is slow, but my spirit is lifted knowing that I am surrounded by such a loving congregation. You're the best! Pastor Mark

+ Dear Friends of Immanuel Lutheran Church, Many, many thanks from the Lake Geneva Food Pantry for all your generous donations! Sincerely, Lake Geneva Food Pantry Staff

+ Special thanks to Heidi Otterness and Adam Smith for presenting a beautiful, tender, and poignant arrangement of "O The Blood" on August 23rd! It was such an amazing compliment to Holy Communion-reminding us just how precious His blood is! Their music filled our hearts with the strong message, "The blood that gives us strength from day to day will NEVER lose its' power!" See video here: https://youtu.be/yM5ERvv3zYQ

Accompanied by John Ivan on piano, the astounding pair echoed the compelling words that Jesus spoke at The Last Supper through poignant, inspiring, and dynamic music! See the extraordinary video here: https://youtu.be/suiX75qiId0

+ Dear Pastor Mark and members of Immanuel, We attended your church service one Sunday morning and after that were the recipients of a wonderful and unexpected surprise. We live in Park Ridge, but love the times we're able to spend at our Wisconsin home. Recently, when we arrived in Abbey Springs, the guard at the gate handed us a delivery from your church - a bag filled with all kinds of goodies, including a delicious loaf of banana chocolate chip bread and a wonderful cookbook. We truly appreciated your warm welcome - you are a shining example of great outreach to the community. Thank you all - you're amazing!
Sincerely, Judy & Roland Szkwakek
