All Church Small Group Bible Study: "Believe"
Begins the week of September 13th!

Believe is a groundbreaking Bible reading experience that will anchor every member of your family in the core teachings of Scripture:

  • The 10 key beliefs of the Christian faith.
  • The 10 key practices of a Christ follower.
  • The 10 key virtues that characterize someone who's becoming more like Christ.
The entire congregation will learn together through this study! Whether in Sunday School, Confirmation, High School Youth Group, Small Group Bible Studies for adults, or Sunday morning worship and preaching - we will all better understand how to think, act, and be more like Christ. Know what you believe and why!

Small Groups, Sunday School, Confirmation and High School Youth Group all launch the week of September 13! Sign up for a group on this form. Put it in the offering plate or on Pastor Mary Ann's desk.
Help yourself to the curriculum of 3 books on the table in the Gathering Space: The Study Guide, the Believe Bible, and the book "Think, Act and Be Like Jesus" by Randy Frazee. Pastor Frazee also wrote the Bible Study, "The Story" - which we studied two years ago. A contribution of $15 toward cost of the 3 books would be such a gift. Thanks!

End of Summer Picnic

The church picnic is Sunday, August 30th from 1:00 - 3:00 p.m. at Immanuel. Please bring a dish to pass and willingness to have fun and try some new wild and crazy things. Bring your family members, friends and neighbors. We would like to share our blessings with those who could use a "hand up." Please bring a canned good item if you are able or a donation toward purchase of fresh produce, meats and dairy products. Please sign-up on the flyer in the bulletins if you will attend or if you can help in any way.

Bells of Immanuel: Rehearse Sundays, 9:15-10:15 AM

The Bells start rehearsals on Sunday, September 13th in the music room! The bells are a ton of fun and ring recognizable church music; including traditional repertoire, classical sacred literature, and more recent compositions throughout the year. Director Ellen Hanson will show you how to ring, no musical training is necessary. If you can't commit to every Sunday, talk to Ellen about being a bell substitute ringer! Contact Ellen Hanson if you are interested or just show up for rehearsal. She can be reached at: ellen.hanson@aurora.org or 262.210.1001

Combined Choir: Rehearses Wednesdays, 6:45 PM

It's that special time of year when our music ensembles regroup, start rehearsals, and plan musical offerings for autumn and Christmas. Combined choir rehearsals begin Wednesday, September 9th at 6:45PM. The choir is intended for ALL singers, regardless of musical training. Rehearsal CD's are available to help learn the music. Please help spread the invitation to new members, cherished longtime members, and even non-churched community members who love to sing, or play instruments. We always encourage newcomers and welcome your participation.

Youth Praise Team: Rehearses Wednesdays, 5:30 PM

The YPT starts rehearsals Wednesday, September 9th and is open to ALL teens 6th-12th grade! The teens have a blast with this group as they learn vibrant new Christian music intended to inspire their generation! Both vocalists and instrumentalists are needed! Newcomers are welcome!

The team leads weekly confirmation classes in song on Wednesday nights immediately following rehearsal at 6:30PM and will present Sunday morning music occasionally. Contact John Ivan for more information at music@immanuellg.org

Praise Team: Rehearses Wednesdays, 8:00 PM

Praise Team rehearsals will start at 8:00PM beginning September 9th! The Praise Team vibrantly leads contemporary worship songs each week at 9:45 & 11:07. The group also helps lead special services throughout the year. Attendance at rehearsals is required. Contact John Ivan at music@immanuellg.org if you are interested in participating.

Music Recognition Sunday October 18th

Music Recognition Sunday is October 18th at all three services. We will celebrate the gift of music, the gift of song, the gift of worship itself, the gift of musical prayer, and will recognize our treasured musicians. You will be blessed with special music from our beloved ensembles and invited to sing along to favorites. Mark your calendars and invite a friend to share God's gift of music with us!

Media Specialists

The media team utilizes modern technology during every worship service. We are so grateful for their incredible devotion and humble hearts. Positions include running the computer, managing the sound board, and operating live video. We are always inviting newcomers to learn the new system. Contact John Ivan at music@immanuellg.org if you are feeling techy.

Large Bulletins Available at Each Service

Large bulletins are available. Ask an usher for a large print bulletin prior to the worship service.

Ear Piece During Worship

If you want an ear piece to enhance your worship experience, stop at the sound desk at the back the church. This new system works far better than a hearing aid, as it brings the sound straight to your ear - with no background noise! You can control the volume with the dial on your unit.

Welcome Center Volunteers

Do you like to meet people? We are looking for some fun people to be on the Welcoming Team.  They will set up coffee and water in the Welcome Center and then greet and help connect visitors to members between services. Contact Edith Draper at 248-1861 with any questions.

Worship Schedule Sign-up

You can sign-up for helping lead worship by going to the Immanuel website www.Immanuellakegeneva.org Click on "Worship Sign Up" and choose the month and service you would like to help. You will see highlighted in yellow the positions that need to be filled.  Click in the box or by the number, and type your name.  When you exit, it automatically saves your name in that spot.  Anyone who clicks on the link will see the updated version.

There is also a sign-up board in the Fellowship Hall to manually sign-up if you prefer to do it that way.  Or you can always email me dates, times and position you would like to fill.  Thank you, again, for your willingness to serve!  You are a gift!  Know you are loved! Evie Schulz, Ministry Coordinator ministry_coord@immanuellg.org

Hymnals

Please help yourself to a hymnal at the entrance of the worship space if you like to follow the music for hymns. Hymnals are also available at each church entrance which can be taken home.

Memory Quilts

Barb Kwiatkowski has generously offered to make a memory quilt for the spouse of members of Immanuel whose partner dies to Christ. Coffee Hour

Beverages are available following the first service at the Welcome Center Counter in the Gathering Space. Help yourself to information about Immanuel on the counter. Our Coffee Hour follows the first service in the Fellowship Hall to the left of the worship space. Join us for treats, beverages, and conversation. It's a great way to meet new friends, and to share in fellowship with others. All are welcome!! Many thanks to those who help serve for these two ministries. If you are interested in helping, we need you!! Sign up on the Worship Card. Thanks!

Parking on Sundays and Special Services

Able bodied members are encouraged to park in the outer parking stalls or the Middle School Lot when they can, so visitors and seniors can be closer to the entrances. Many Thanks! It's a wonderful challenge to already be short on parking spaces! Praise God, who gives the growth!!
