Angel Tree Gifts Needed

Its Angel Tree time again! For years Immanuel has been a part of this incredible ministry that provides gifts at Christmas for children who have a parent in prison. This is an opportunity to let children know their parent has not forgotten them and still cares deeply for them. Angels are on the tree in the Gathering Space. Coordinators, Linda and Rich McWherter would be happy to answer any questions after each service. Please prayerfully consider participating. Please pick-up a toothbrush, toothpaste & floss in the church office for each gift you are donating to Angel Tree.

Annual Christmas Parade December 6th at 5:00PM

Cheer on Immanuel's Praise Team on the streets of Lake Geneva December 6th! They will herald our Savior's birth with live music on a moving float in the annual Christmas parade. Representatives from Vibe, Little Sprouts Daycare, and other ministries will walk along too. If you are interested in helping and walking along with the float (to pass out candy and flyers, and represent Immanuel) please call the church office or John Ivan. We are also in need of candy donations to distribute!

Special Congregational Meeting December 7, 2014

A special congregational meeting will be held after each service on Sunday, December 7, 2014. Members will vote on the council recommendation to retain the services of the James Company for a 3 year debt reduction appeal at a cost of $31,600.00. Funds have been budgeted to cover the cost for services.

We are grateful for the generosity of members and friends of Immanuel who have sacrificed to bring us to this new chapter in our life together. We trust the Holy Spirit to guide us as we move with confidence into the future God has planned for us.

Electronic Giving

Each holiday season, Immanuel Lutheran Church anticipates and relies on a seasonal increase in contributions. It is through the donations of every individual and family in the congregation that we are able to carry on our ministries. If you need a convenient way to make recurring contributions, or plan to make an additional gift before the end of the year, check out our electronic giving options. As the pace of life speeds up around the holidays, electronic giving might be a welcome way to contribute. Visit us online at www.Immanuellakegeneva.org and locate the Online Giving button. If you prefer, complete a paper authorization form and return it to the church office. Thanks for your generosity and support!

+ Huge thanks to Todd and Erin Huemann for organizing our fabulous first annual trunk or treat!  So much fun was had by all!  Thank you to all who decorated their trunks to welcome the trick or treaters too!

+ Dear Immanuel Lutheran Family.  Todd & I wanted to send out a big Thank You to everyone who participated in the Trunk or Treat Event.  First Praise to God for the amazing weather we were given.   We had 21 decorated cars ready and waiting in the parking lot and approximately 150-200 trick or treaters from both our community and church family who remarked about how fun it was and many thanked us for such a "fun, safe trick or treat experience."  Finally, thanks so much for the donation of candy as the families kept pouring in our buckets ran low and it was so wonderful to have all that candy for refilling.  Truly a wonderful example of how the church comes together to make a difference in the community!  We're already looking forward to next year. Erin and Todd Huemann

+ Special thanks to Chad and Amy Bittner with their very generous donation of pizza each week for our youth groups!  Be sure to stop in to the Next Door Pub to say thank you and have some of their delicious food!

+ The Praise Team triumphantly presented "The Great Day (The Second Coming)" on November 23rd to recognize Christ the King Sunday! + Thanks to my Immanuel family who supported and sponsored me in this year's CROP Walk on October 5th! It was a beautiful day for a walk, the 27th time I've been able to do it since the first on in 1985. Every year I am overwhelmed by your generous hearts to care!. With love, Marilyn Heiden

+ I want to take this opportunity to thank Pastors Mary Ann & Mark for letting Jamie & I sell tickets for the Walworth County Special Olympics Fundraiser at the Simple Café which was held on October 7th. And thank you to the wonderful parishioners who supported this successful event. Without their support, we would not be able to accomplish the needs of our physically and intellectually challenged individuals. Our athletes are winning life itself. And in doing so, they give to others a most precious prize,,,,Faith in the unlimited possibilities of the Human Spirit. Don't walk behind me, I may not lead. Don't walk in front of me, I may not follow. Just walk beside me and be my friend. Thank you one and all for standing beside us and being our friends. Sincerely, Betty & Jamie Aguirre

+ On a thankful note, your random act of kindness of delivering soup and goodies to 12 people was so appreciated!  Many of the recipients had tears of joy!  I heard there were even hugs given!  We received a thank you note from one recipient that said this:  "Dear High School Youth - Thank you so much for your act of kindness.  The food was all so delicious.  I appreciate your thoughtfulness more than words can express."  This person made a monetary donation so that we can continue our random acts of kindness!  YOU each made a difference in at least 12 people's lives!  If you missed it, I hope you can join us again as it is such a blessing for both the recipient and the giver.
