All Saints Sunday - November 2nd

All Saints Sunday is November 2nd when we remember our loved ones who died to Christ in the past year. A special litany will be part of each service, with a candle lit on the altar rail for each person being remembered. Please submit their name, your name, their relationship to you and which service you would like their name read.

Honoring Our Veterans and their Families!

Join us on Sunday, November 9 at all three services, as we honor those who have served our country in the Armed Forces to protect the freedoms we cherish as a nation. We will also honor the sacrifices their families have made on our behalf - while their loved one served far from home. There will be special music, and a litany celebrating their willingness to serve - that we might live free. The Great War ended on the 11th day of the 11th month at the 11th hour. As we commemorate the 100th anniversary of the start of that war, we will toll our bell 11 times, in recognition and gratitude to our veterans and their families.

Giving In Grace

"Giving In Grace" is the theme of our fall stewardship emphasis. We are blessed by all the ways God's grace has overflowed in our lives. As we have been blessed, we are called to be a blessing to others. The stewardship of our time, energy, talents, and money are indicators of the ways we share what has first been given to us. We are thrilled to be a part of a growing, vital congregation that shares generously and joyfully. Lives are changed through the ministries of Immanuel that are supported by faithful stewards.   We are so thankful to be a part of a congregation of faithful, grace-filled servants of Christ.

Sunday, November 23, 2014 is our "GIVING IN GRACE" Commitment Sunday. On that day we will receive commitment cards that indicate our giving plans for 2015. We will also receive Time and Talent forms where members can identify areas of service. Please pray for God's guidance in the coming weeks, that we might grow in our stewardship of all the gifts that have been given to us.

Thanksgiving Eve Service and Pie Fest - November 26th

First Service Choral Director and Cantor

The Church Council is absolutely delighted to announce the selection of Amberleigh Aller as our First Service Choral Director and Cantor. She will be choosing hymns, introducing and teaching new music, recruiting soloists, instrumentalists, and participants in vocal and instrumental ensembles, and rehearsing them. Rehearsal times will vary, to meet the needs of a variety of participants.

Amberleigh feels very thankful to have the opportunity to lead our early service music. She grew up in rural Iowa, where she developed a passion for the classical arts. Amberleigh pursued a vocal performance degree from DePaul University. She is a soprano who has performed nationally and internationally on the operatic stage, and in concerts featuring both chamber and new music.

Amberleigh's experiences include extensive liturgical work in Methodist and Episcopal worship services, and even Jewish ceremonies. Her desire to promote living composers led her to produce and direct new music concerts in New York City.

In Lake Geneva, Amberleigh teaches private voice lessons. Community theater has also taken a major role in her life. She has enjoyed working with the local talent as the Musical Director for several musicals. She is directing her first children's musical this Christmas season with Lakeland Players. Amberleigh said that every day she gets to be involved in music making, or in teaching music, is truly a blessed day. She feels honored to have been given the opportunity to lead our early service music at Immanuel, where she has found a loving spiritual home.

Amberleigh is eager to hear from you about your willingness to get involved in early service music! You can reach her by email at, or by cell phone at 646 246-7832.   We are thrilled to welcome Amberleigh to our staff, and are excited about this new chapter in worship at our Classical Service!

+ Sunday School Singers and Parents, Sunday School Singers..."Thank You".  You all were absolutely wonderful on Music Recognition Sunday. I couldn't have asked anything more from you.   I look forward to each Sunday to have a chance to sing with you. It is the highlight of my week!

Parents....Don't ever underestimate your child.  They are capable of amazing wonderful things!  The songs sang on Sunday were not easy, but we learned them by working on them each Sunday.  They wouldn't have been able to sing them if it weren't for you. So "Thank You".  When I was contemplating whether or not I should have them sing "Indescribable" because of the length of the song and difficulty of the words, a voice told me, "They can do it".  So I said, "Alright, we're going to do this"!   Your children amaze me.  You are so blessed to have them in your life. If your child is interested in working on a solo to sing in church, please give me a call. (262-949-6722). I will gladly work with your child in my home or we can meet at the church.  When your child feels ready, we will schedule a time to sing. Thank you again.  Tami Buntrock
