New All-Church Small Group Bible Study: The Circle Maker
We are launching our new All-Church Small Group Bible Study the week of September 21. In "The Circle Maker," we will learn over the 8 weeks of the study how to claim God-given promises, pursue God-sized dreams, seize God-ordained opportunities, and bring glory to God! The study will help participants dream big, pray hard, and think long.
The Circle Maker is a New York Times Bestseller, written by Pastor Mark Batterson. The video teaching is gripping, and the Participant's Guide is applicable to all of our lives - regardless of age.
Sign up for the Small Group of your choice! If you are willing to facilitate a group, please let Pastor Mary Ann know as soon as possible. The pastors will preach on the theme each week of the study. Our High School students are already on board to also do this study! Don't miss it!
This is by far the finest study we have had the opportunity to use, so join a group, come worship around the theme each week, and allow this teaching to saturate your life as God accomplishes great things in each of us!
New Member Discovery Class: Oct. 5, 12:30 PM
The next New Member Discovery Class for those interested in membership at Immanuel is set for Sunday, October 5 at 12:30 PM in the Fellowship Hall. Little treats are available on the coffee bar counter. Please help yourself to a "busy bag" for your pre-schooler at the entrance to the worship space, to help your child stay focused during worship.
Sunday Nursery Staff
Sunday, August 17th, was our last day with our Nursery Leader Sara Fields. We wish Sara a lifetime of blessings as she begins her future in college. Sara has been a true gift to this Ministry, and the children absolutely loved her!
We are so excited to welcome Emily Schulting to our Nursery Staff. Emily brings patience and a gentle heart to this program, and we are so blessed to have her join us!
Sunday School Rally Day
Rally Day is on Sunday, September 7th, when we begin a new year learning about Jesus! Children ages Preschool through 5th Grade are invited to our Children's Wing to share in an ice cream treat and meet some of our teachers.
Sunday School Teachers
We are still recruiting Sunday School Leaders for our top flight Sunday School Program! Immanuel uses a team teaching approach, asking teachers to lead twice a month. We've found that this helps keep teachers from burnout, and the kids get to see how many adults genuinely care about them!
If you are interested in teaching children, please join us on Thursday, August 28th at 6 p.m. We will hand out curriculum and share ideas for the upcoming year. If you want to teach, but can't attend the meeting, give our Children's Ministry Director, Brianna Deering, a call at 248-4211.
Vacation Bible Camp
Thank you to everyone who made Vacation Bible Camp: Weird Animals such a huge success! We had two hundred children registered, and over four hundred people attend our grand finale event.
This week of sharing God's Word wouldn't have been possible without the over 75 volunteers that helped out each night. A special thanks to the Ministry Leaders who spent countless hours making sure their area of ministry was ready to share: Sara and Clay Wahlstedt (Set Design), Carol Smith (Crafts), Sharon Payne, Renee Wells, Joselyn Hayes (Food), Ellen Hansen (Bible Study), Roberta Pepper (Mission), Sean Payne (MC), Rick Ruby (Sound), John Ivan and Brenda Follensbee (Publicity), Vijay and Ashley (Games), Jess Jooss and Stacey Smith (Preschool). A big thank you to Heidi Schussler for all the behind the scenes work with Registration, and to Jamie Ivan for sharing the joy of music both during bible camp and at Sunday Worship! Finally, thank you to Pastors Mark and MaryAnn for their support with this amazing program each year!!
Thank you to everyone who donated food, drinks, clothing and school supplies for Vacation Bible Camp. Our mission raised hundreds of dollars for Side By Side, and helped many families in need. Our bible camp mission for Fellow Mortals raised $367.64, used to help rehabilitate injured animals. We are so blessed to have such a generous and caring Immanuel Family. Thank you for your continued support with all our Children's Ministry.

CHILDREN'S NEWS
Just For Kids
Just for Kids Before and After-School Program is looking for some teachers to help with caring for our kids. The program runs 6:00 a.m. to 8:30 a.m. and 3:30 to 6:15 p.m. Please let us know if you would be interested in helping part-time. We are looking for teachers with some background education in childcare. Contact Brianna at 248-4211 for more information.
First Communion Class: Sept. 13, 10:00 AM
We look forward to the next First Communion Class for children who are ready to receive Holy Communion. We ask that a parent, grandparent, godparent, or other significant adult also attend the class. If your child has been asking to receive the sacrament, they are probably ready! The class is quite interactive, with age-appropriate teaching. Children will learn the two Biblical stories that provide the meaning of the Sacrament: the Passover in the Old Testament, and The Last Supper of Jesus with his disciples in the Gospels. It's a very fun morning together. Sign up on the Worship Card, or call Pastor Mary Ann at church, 248-4211.
Little Sprouts Day Care News and Launch
Due to a glitch from the State Licensing Department which they are responsible for, the full opening of Little Sprouts Learning Center is delayed until mid-September. Accommodations are being made to care for already registered children. Our hours of operation are 6:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m. Our new Day Care is for children from 6 weeks to 4 year olds. We are accepting registration forms for children, so be sure to get yours in right away!
Many thanks to all of the parishioners and staff who have worked so hard to prepare our facilities and help launch this new ministry. Special thanks are due to the three families who are temporarily hosting child care in their homes until our full opening.
Needs for Daycare
There are some needs for our daycare licensing: Gently worn clothing sizes 3 months - size 5, sweaters, sweatpants, sweatshirts, socks, mittens, hats, scarves, shirts, sleepers, onesies, coats, jackets, snowpants, boots,
Wal-Mart bags to wrap up soiled clothing/diapers, 30 child-size blankets for evacuations/emergency kit. Thank you so much, Sue Gifford, director.

The Vibe Art Tribe is designing artwork and decorations for the lower level to be a space where middle and high school students want to hang out. We need more artistic folks to join the team as we complete the space. Come and have a blast transforming the lower level into a haven for teens!

Our 9th grade students will confirm their faith in Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior on October 26, at the worship service of their choice.

High School Youth Leaders Brainstorming and Planning, Wed., Sept. 3, 6:30 PM
Come join us on our adult team working with High School students this year! We are talking about possible new models for a vibrant approach to high school ministries in the new school year! The next High School Youth Group Leaders meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, September 3rd at 6:30 p.m. at church. Any adults who are interested in helping are welcome and encouraged to come. Call Pastor Mary Ann with any questions and ideas! We're so excited about the possibilities ahead.
High School Youth Group is switching gears as we are going to offer many different ways to be involved in various "treks". For instance, we'll have one trek that is a Bible Study, another trek that is the mission trip, a trek that is cookie ministry, a trek that is music, a trek that is community service and so on. We are excited for each trek as you can join us in your journey with Christ by participating in one trek, two treks or all of them. Our goal is that our high school youth are able to participate as their schedule allows and doing something they love to do with a wide variety of treks to choose from. Here are the treks for September:
Saturday, September 6th - High School Cookie Ministry: We're bringing our beloved cookie ministry to our high school level. If you would like to learn to bake cookies, come to the home of Cynthia Hibbard, W1161 Trieste Drive, Lake Geneva, at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 6th and we'll learn how to make chocolate chip cookies. If you already know how to bake and want to bake at home, please bring your baked cookies at 11:00 a.m. We will package the cookies up at that time and get them ready for delivery. Taste testers are welcome to come any time! J We need people to help deliver the cookies to our friends that may be suffering the loss of a loved one, having surgery, celebrating a special birthday or anniversary or just need the love and joy a tray of cookies can bring. If you are willing to deliver, please come at any time, but before noon for instructions. Any adults interested in helping are welcome to attend also! Questions, call or text Cynthia at 262-374-1102.
Saturday, September 13th - Citizen Way, Milton, WI: Award-winning Christian band Citizen Way will perform at Crosspointe Community Church in Milton, WI at 7:00 p.m. (doors open at 6:00 p.m.). General admission tickets are $15.00 per person. Please text Carolee Barnett at 262-215-1008 if you are interested in attending.
Sunday, September 14th - Dinner and Bonfire: Let's kick off our new treks with a dinner and bon fire at the home of Cynthia Hibbard, W1161 Trieste Drive, Lake Geneva at 6:30 p.m. Come for food, fun, laughter, stories and more!
Wednesdays for 7 weeks beginning September 17th - Join us at church for a time to connect with friends and be refreshed. For 7 weeks (September 17th - October 29th), we will be studying a vibrant and intriguing Bible study called "The Circle Maker". Here is how this "trek" looks:
5:30 - 6:30 p.m. Invite your friends and come for a slice of pizza for a buck ($1). Every Wednesday we'll offer you a place to do your homework, visit with your friends, have a little bit of down time after your school activities and enjoy some pizza!
6:15 - 6:30 p.m. Our musicians are invited to join John in a quick rehearsal of a couple of songs that we'll sing to start our Bible study. If you want to just come and jam with John, he'd love it!
6:35 - 6:45 p.m. Come sing a couple of songs as we gather for our Bible study. Even if you aren't a singer, come here the amazing songs!
6:45 - 7:45 p.m. The Circle Maker Bible study (Video Clip and Small Group Discussion)
We invite you to come for all or parts of the study! You will be so glad you did!
Sunday, September 28th - Packer/Bear (or Bear/Packer) Tailgate Party: Come join the fun as two of our favorite teams go head to head. TV's will be set up outside so you can watch the game. Bring a chair, wear your team colors and get ready for some fun and football! Carolee and Steve will be providing the food. Game starts at noon - W3408 McDonald Road, Lake Geneva! Can't wait to see who wins!

Uganda Children's Choir Concert: Fri., Sept. 5, 6:30-8:00 PM
We are so excited to hear the Uganda Children's Choir concert at Immanuel on Sept. 5! The children are ages 9-11, and are in 2nd and 3rd grade. The concert is for the entire community, so please be sure to invite your friends, neighbors, family, and co-workers! Their music will knock your socks off and touch you in the depth of your spirit!
Badger High School Anti-Bullying Training, Sept. 23, 24 & 25
We are so honored that the administration of Badger High School has asked to use our church to conduct a three-day Anti-Bullying Training Seminar for their student body, Tuesday through Thursday, Sept. 23-26, from 7:30 AM to 3:00 PM. The seminar will be in the worship space.
This is a phenomenal opportunity for us to partner with the High School, and to serve students as they learn how to resist, speak out, and rise above the scourge of bullying across our country.
We also thank God for the privilege of serving the school district, because without the positive vote of the school board, we would not be on this land in our expansive new facility. Pray that God works miracles in the lives of each student in this program.

+ Dear Pastors Mary Ann & Mark, I just wanted to take this opportunity to thank you for the donation of the use of your property for our fundraising event, The Geneva Lakes Amazing Race, on June 28, 2014. The property was perfect for the starting line of our event. We had plenty of registration and set up space in the parking lot. A great place to launch our first challenge and thankfully the use of bathrooms before the racers began their very long race day! This is our 8th year for this fundraising event and we raised over $21,000 which will be split between 2 charitable organizations: The TS Alliance & Children's World Impact. Our sincere thanks for al you do for this community and for your genuine generosity. Erin Huemann, Geneva Lakes Amazing Race Volunteer
