High School Summer Youth Mission Trip

All High School youth in 9th through 12th grade who are interested in our Summer Youth Mission Trip to Puerto Rico, are invited to our first planning meeting on Thursday, December 5th at 6:30 p.m. Adults interested in helping lead the mission team need to attend the session, because we have a limited number of slots for adults.

The trip will be June 21-28, and will cost approximately $800 to $850 per person. As soon as we know the exact amount, we will let you know. This is an incredibly low price for an international mission trip. During our meeting we will go over details, and will begin planning fundraisers to help participants with the cost. If you can't attend the meeting, please let Bruce Reek (262-249-3477) or Pastor Mary Ann (262-215-3177) know you still want to be on the team.

We will be guests of Sion Lutheran Church, a vibrant congregation in the central city. The group will stay in their parish house next to the church. Sion's church council will propose a number of projects we can do while we are there, to bless their congregation and community. They are also eager to show us part of their beloved country, so we will have several play days. What an awesome opportunity to serve, and to learn from a church in another country!

MISSION

Adult Mission Trip Meeting

The Adult Mission Trip meeting is Thursday, December 5th at 7:30 p.m. We are planning a mission trip to the village of Coroma. This village is located on the Bribri Reservation in Talamanca, Costa Rica. The Bribri are indigenous to Costa Rica, and their traditional culture dates back hundreds of years. This area is very poor and lacks many medical, social and transportation services that we take for granted. The main source of income is raising bananas and plantains. We will be doing repair work and construction in the village. Three years ago a youth mission team from Immanuel worked on several projects in this village. Temperatures are generally hot and humid. Torrential downpours are not uncommon. We will be carrying everything for our 8 day trip in our backpacks. If you are interested in an adventure that will make a difference in the lives of others, please attend the informational meeting. Space is limited. The dates are Saturday, March 15 through Sunday March 22, 2014. Please attend if you are interested in going.

MISSION

Angel Tree is Here Already!

Angel Tree is an organization that provides gifts for children of incarcerated parents. It is such a gift to these children and families to see the love of Christ at work through those who let these children know they are not forgotten and loved. The first step in this process is calling the families to confirm what these children need, addresses for delivery and acceptance of gifts. It is a great help to us when others are willing to make some of the calls. Please let us know if you would be willing to help by making phone calls to these families so we can begin putting Angels n our tree before 'Black Friday." Thank you! Linda and Rich McWherter, 262-348-1342.

New Building Update

We're getting closer every day! The excitement is growing. Workers are making steady progress on our new building. Most of the painting is done in the two wings. Doors are hung, ceiling panels are installed, and light fixtures are in place. Carpet is scheduled for early December. The worship area will have the final glass panels installed in the coming weeks. The parking lot is completely paved and exterior doors are in place.

We are still on schedule to move into the new facility on December 29, 2013, with our first worship service on January 5, 2014. Help is needed with weekly clean-up on Fridays at 4:30 pm. We are grateful for the crew of volunteer painters who did a great job. We are saving a considerable amount of money through the efforts of volunteers. Please continue to pray for the Building Team as they provide leadership in the home stretch and for the safety of all the construction workers as they labor on our behalf.

Transition Team - Photos

Please help us gather photos of currently active church groups in preparation for our Open House Celebration at the new church. Please coordinate a photo with your group (i.e. Bible study, church council, youth group, music group, quilt group, etc.) & email the photo to jenkramp@yahoo.com. Please include a caption that lists the first & last names of everyone pictured. The deadline is December 1st. Questions? Call Jennifer at 262-348-6245.  Thank you for your help!

Transition Team - My Immanuel Memory

The Transition Team would like you to share your fondest memories here at Immanuel which will be displayed at our Open House in our new building. We would prefer the length of one page. Forms are available in the Overflow Area on Sundays or in the church office during the week. You are also welcome to submit memories generated on your computer. Email your "Immanuel Memories" to Brenda @ Immanuel_secretary@sbcglobal.net. Consider video-taping your memories and send them to the same email.

Immanuel Lawn Signs

Immanuel lawn signs are available in the overflow and narthex. Please feel free to take one to post in your yard!
