New Building Update

Excellent progress continues to be made on the new church building. Most of the windows are in place. Stone work is being completed on the entry ways. The interior of the administrative/classroom wing has been painted by volunteers coordinated by Rich McWherter. It looks great! New member, Steve Zlotnik, is spearheading the planting of trees and shrubs in the parking lot and around the building. We should have heat by the last week in October. We are on schedule to begin worship in the new facility on January 5, 2014.

Thanks to everyone who has helped with clean-up at the site. We now only need cleaners on Fridays of each week, starting at 4:30 pm. Jerry Baker is the coordinator for this project.

We've had a great initial response to the "SPECIAL GIVING OPPORTUNITIES FOR FURNISHINGS IN THE NEW CHURCH." Everyone should have received a brochure listing the items needed. Additional brochures are available in the Overflow Room. This is a great way to make a designated gift in honor or in memory of a loved one. Please refer to the poster board in the Overflow Room to see which items have already been donated. With the generous help of members and friends of Immanuel, we will bring this project to completion. To God be the glory.

+ Dear Members of Immanuel, Pastors Mark and Maryann,

We would like to thank everyone at Immanuel for their concern for our daughter, Laura Bidlack Langston. Laura was off work for 5 weeks recovering from a mild concussion after being assaulted at her job with Banner Behavioral Health Care in Scottsdale, AZ.  She has bruises, headaches and a cut to her face, but will survive this temporary setback.  Thanks for all your prayers, telephone calls, and concern for her.  She really appreciates all we have told her you have said or mailed to her.

May God bless all of you for your kindness. In great appreciation, John and Carolyn Warfield

+ Many Thanks to "Max's Special Immanuel Angel" who knit four darling hats for him!!  Maxwell Murray Wiseman is starting to lose his great head of hair now, due to chemo treatments for leukemia that started after Labor Day.  The "Pumpkin Hat" is just too cute!!!  And he can wear the Packer Hat and the Bear Hat anytime---since he lives in Colo. Springs and is not partial to a team at this time (altho his Grandpa Murray would be a Bear Fan)!  And of course, it is good to have an "everyday hat" in blue and yellow!   This "Angel" is so sweet (and quiet), as a dear friend of Max's Grandma and Mom, I send my heartfelt thanks for Max and his family. And many thanks to everyone for prayers for this darling two year old boy, who is in a crucial stage at this time.  Please keep praying. Blessings, Sandy Anselmo

Thanks to Jerry Penfield for taking on extra Worship day duties the last 6 weeks before heading south. We appreciate your help. Scott Cunningham

+ A big Thank You to Tami Buntrock for leading the Sunday School Singers on Sunday, October 13th. We appreciate your time, preparation and leadership as our young ones raise their voices to praise God. Brianna Deering

+ Your congregation is such a vital part of the Side By Side ministry. Again you have designated us for the proceeds of your "Back To School" Clothing Sale. Thank you very much for the $213 gift. Every penny donated to us goes directly to help struggling families in the Badger High School. Side By Side

+ Thank you to TJ Triplett for replacing floor tiles in the basement.

+ Thank you to Sami Moehling for all of your work with our youth. Dean & Odella Nelson

+ Many thanks to Jubilate choir and instrumental accompanists for sharing and presenting "Healing is in Your Hands" at all three services on September 22nd! The anthem underpinned the theme of the special quarterly healing service. The text was a tender expression of God who protects and delivers us from pain, both physical and emotional: "No sickness, no secret, no chain is strong enough to keep us from Your love." Please enjoy the video here:

+ Musicians, Your music was uplifting, lively, and such a blessing for ALL on music recognition Sunday! Worship was God-focused, life-giving, enthusiastic, and varied! Thanks to ALL musicians for sharing your fabulous talents and valued time. Your music is SO appreciated by everyone who hears the promising text and evocative melodies; and your inspirational leadership helps people experience God's love in the community of faith! Listen to the foot-stomping revivalist hymn "Build Your Kingdom Here" sung by the Praise Team here: The words declared that "the Kingdom of God is an inclusive, welcoming and diverse community - there are no outsiders; we are the church". The team had a blast singing and playing this new raucous, folk-rock worship song! Jubilate choir sang the inspiring and tender anthem "Hope in the Night". The poetic lyrics and memorable melody combined to offer a musical promise of hope: "From our sorrow comes joy." See here: The Bells of Immanuel enhanced the wonderful celebration with their beautiful bell anthem. Special thanks to Ellen Hanson for her fabulous direction! The morning would not be conceivable without the brilliant unnoticed efforts of our sound and av helpers! Thanks to ALL for your support and infinite enthusiasm to share God's love through music! John Ivan

+ We're excited to use the Bell from the old Baptist church on Geneva Street. Thanks to Don Tolar, Dan Andresen, and the Parsons who retrieved it in 1996 to be used in the future. It will be installed above the covered walkway at the new site!!!

+ Big Thanks also to John Larkin for restoring and cleaning it. It sounds heavenly!
