WORSHIP NEWS

"Worship on the Water"

The community is invited to a mid-summer "Worship on the Water" sponsored by Anchor Covenant and Immanuel Lutheran Churches of Lake Geneva. Join us on the Lady of the Lake on Wednesday, July 24 from 6:30 pm-7:30 pm. Worship will be spirited and informal, with an uplifting Praise Band from both congregations, and a special message for all. Area families, tourists, and church members are all welcome. Thanks to the generosity of Gage Marine, there is no cost for the evening. A reservation is essential due to space restrictions on the boat. Please call 248-4211 if you plan to attend, so your name can be included on the list of attendees. Invite a friend!

Jubilate!

The Jubilate choir meets on Wednesday nights from 6:45PM-8:00PM. Note: There are NO rehearsals July 24 or July 31 due to "Worship on the Water" and VBC. Summer rehearsals include learning new music, and preparing for fall and Christmas. New members are always encouraged to attend! We are simultaneously rehearsing several anthems for future events. This would be a wonderful time to join! Contact John Ivan if you have any questions @ [email protected]

Youth Praise Team

The Youth Praise team is meeting during the day while on summer vacation. If you are a teen that is interested in joining or helping out, please contact John Ivan at [email protected] or (262) 620-2349 to coordinate your schedule. Immanuel's Youth Praise Team provides teens in 6th through 12th grade with a way to connect with God through fresh, dynamic worship music. ALL teens are encouraged to join this progressive ministry intended to inspire our next generation!

Praise Team

The Praise Team meets from 8:00PM-9:00PM on Wednesday nights for weekly rehearsals. The team leads contemporary worship music and introduces fresh new music-often at two services. Thanks be to God for their faithful service! If you play an instrument, sing, or have technological interests, contact John Ivan at [email protected] for more information.

Media Specialists

The media team utilizes modern technology during every worship service throughout the year. We are so grateful for their incredible devotion and humble hearts. Positions include controlling the computer, managing the sound board, and operating live video during worship. The team is currently training new people and would love some extra help! + Mission Trip Thank You:

Thank you so much to all who have donated for our July mission trip to help Hurricane Sandy victims in New York!   By your donation, you are coming along with us in spirit and have helped immensely to raise the funds needed to get there.  Special thanks to Charlie Vaughn, of Vaughn & Bushnell in Hebron, IL, for once again donating a huge box of hammers; to Lake Geneva Comfort Suites for getting us a special rate on the hotel for our bus driver; to the amazing quilters who are sending us with beautiful quilts to give to the victims of the hurricane that have lost everything; to Stacy Smith for donating all of the proceeds from the sale of her  Wildtree products; to the Tuscan Restaurant for a delicious fundraiser meal; to Papa Murphy's for donating 20% of their proceeds for one day; to all the people who had yard work or cleaning to do and so generously donated; to those who have just donated money through buying "bricks" to pave our way; to the anonymous donors; to anyone we may have missed...you are all incredible and so generous.  Thank you to all of you who have been lifting us up in prayer as we plan, organize and finalize the details of our trip.  Please continue to pray for our safety, that we can make a difference by sharing God's love and the rebuilding of homes.   Thank you again from your 2013 New York Mission Team!

+ Thank you to Steve Rote for cutting grass near our new building during construction.

+ Jubilate, another fabulous job on an electrifying and inspirational anthem, "Great is the Lord", on June 23rd! The song and your singing were SO uplifting! The arrangement with vibrant chords and a ton of energy matched the message that our Lord is Great! Thanks for singing at ALL three services-I had some people specifically go out of their way to notice your sacrifice and encourage us for offering at all three! The recording really sounds great! Please enjoy and watch here: http://youtu.be/3UuqcUuRDC4

+ Special thanks to Raya Hickey for leading and singing "God Bless America" on July 7th to honor our country's birthday! Her robust singing and innate talent inspired us ALL to wave our flags and join together in singing.

+ Thanks to Brenda Follensbee for leading and singing "Love the Lord" on July 14th at all three worship services. It was a fun, collaborative, and inspiring song that reinforced the lesson of the day. Not only do we LOVE your voice, but your gestures were engaging and a great addition! Thanks for sharing and teaching us all a new, exciting song!

+ Special thanks to the Praise Team for introducing the new song, "Where I Belong" on June 30th. We are blessed weekly by your music ministry, and especially appreciate learning new music to keep worship fresh and alive with the Spirit. Thanks for your hard work year-round and for the dedication to the TEAM!

+ Church has always felt like a second home to me. What a loving, caring and joyful atmosphere; church has made me feel comfortable and safe. I'm so thankful for your generous contribution of the quilt that I will be taking up to college next fall. The blanket will be a reminder of the unconditional love from my home town. The quilt will also be a reminder of how no matter where I am, I also need to have faith and love in God. Thank you so much for the blanket, it means so much to me and will help me through next year. Thanks! Tristan Sproul

+ Thank you for the beautiful handmade lap blanket from the church ladies. I truly cherish it. Trudy Schmitz

+Thank you to Cindy Twist for your gift of helping with Coffee Hour over the years.
