Hot Off the Press
On March 13, the Cool Girls staff had the chance to talk about our programs with women from
The International Visitor Leadership Program (U.S. Dept. of State). We greatly enjoyed meeting these women and discussing how we all empower our girls!
On March 21st, Cool Girls from Hope-Hill Elementary participated in the Impact initiative at Kilpatrick Townsend & Stockton LLP. Along with women lawyers, the girls assembled toiletry kits for women in shelters at their location in midtown! What a great experience for the girls!
During this semester, girls from Hope-Hill Elementary and King Middle had the chance to go on a field trip to the Apex Museum! Afterwards, the girls enjoyed a lunch at the Hard Rock Cafe downtown, where they learned about important table manners.
Celebrate the Cool Girls who have been committed to our programs for many years and who are about to pursue their higher education dreams on Thursday, May 16 at our Annual Scholarship Reception. More details coming soon!

Volunteer Spotlight:
American Association of University Women
(AAUW) - Atlanta Chapter
Cool Scholars at Oglethorpe University
For the past year and a half, Cool Girls has had the privilege of working with the American Association of University Women- Atlanta Chapter. AAUW advances equity for women and girls through advocacy, education, philanthropy, and research. Volunteers from AAUW have dedicated countless hours to ensuring that our Cool Scholars (high school program) have set clear goals and feel confident about reaching their post-secondary college and career aspirations. Not only have we received a generous grant from AAUW but they have also taken our Cool Scholars on college visits, hosted SAT classes, and prepared the girls for successful interviews. Overall, we are so thankful to count on their support and we know that their kindness will have a long-term positive impact in the lives of our girls.
What do you like best about being involved with Cool Girls?
It has been a pleasure to work with high school girls who are so focused on making their future a priority. We also have developed a deep respect for the parents, mentors and other committed volunteers who participate in the program and we enjoy getting to know them all.
What advice would you share with our Cool Girls? We would tell them to follow through on activities, internships and other opportunities offered by Cool Girls. This is a pathway success for you.
