Independent Canadian news and analysis
for the nonprofit sector

May 7, 2015

Working in a charity is extremely rewarding. Most of us are driven by a passion to change the world by serving our community. It is easy to forget that we work in a sector that raised over $12 billion dollars in Canada in 2014 and that over 2 million Canadians work for charitable organizations. That's right, we are kind of a big deal!

So with that privilege, comes the responsibility to stop every once in awhile and make sure that we are being responsible. Responsible with the Canada Revenue Agency, Canadian law and our ethics around how we research prospects. I hope that you are able to take some time to learn about these issues and consider how they may apply to your organization.

As always, if you would like to work on an article or have an idea for something you would like learn more about, please do let me know. We have a fabulous line up for the rest of the month and I am now booking new articles for June. Email me at [email protected].

I look forward to hearing from you.
