Dear 7th - 12th Grade Parents:

It is with great pleasure that the research team of students and teachers in our acclaimed Upper School Science Research and Design program cordially invite you to the 4th Independent Research Conference, which will take place April 16th and 18th.

The number of young scientists participating in this selective three-year program has grown every year since its inception in 2011. This year, because of this increased enrollment, the conference will take place in two parts.

  • Part one will occur on Thursday, April 16th from 6:30-8:30pm. Half of our 10th grade scientists will showcase their poster presentations and our 11th grade scientists will lead breakout sessions to present their research plans for the upcoming year.
  • Part two will take place on Saturday, April 18th from 12:00-3:00pm. The second half of our 10th grade scientists will showcase their poster presentations while our 12th grade scientists give the final presentations on their independent research projects. Everyone who attends the Saturday session will receive a bound copy of the 4th Independent Research Journal containing all of the students' papers.

There will be refreshments on both days.

It would be great to see you there -- whether you are a student who is thinking about taking part in the program in future, or a parent or faculty member who is interested in the research projects the students have been working on!

Please contact me if you have any questions.

Best,

Scott Rubin
