Dear Berkeley Carroll Parents:

The Berkeley Carroll Parent Association Nominating Committee is very pleased to announce the slate of parents who have volunteered to run for positions as PA Officers for the 2015/2016 academic year.

After meeting for several weeks, the Nominating Committee has identified a group of parents who represent the talents and dedication of the Berkeley Carroll community.  The Parent Association will benefit from their experience and support, and will ensure that the PA remains a vital and integral part of the Berkeley Carroll community. Although the slate of officers is uncontested, please endorse the slate by returning ballots in boxes that will be set up in our Carroll Street and Lincoln Place buildings beginning Monday afternoon, March 30, 2015. Additional ballots will be available at the sites of the ballot boxes as well.  We also encourage all parents to attend the election taking place at the Annual PA meeting on April 13, 2015 at 7pm at 181 Lincoln Place.

We would like to give our sincere thanks the outgoing officers who have worked hard to serve the school community.  I would also to extend a special thanks to the members of Nominating Committee for their hard work: Jean Chant, Janine Hodgkins, Meredith Little, and the Governance Task Force Representative, Jackie Torren.

Sincerely,

Christine Hess

THE BERKELEY CARROLL FILM SERIES PRESENTS: 1971

THURSDAY, APRIL 2nd at 7pm

181 Lincoln Place, Performance Space

On March 8, 1971, a group of activists calling themselves The Citizens' Commission to Investigate the FBI, broke into a small FBI office in Media, Pennsylvania, took every file, and shared them with the American public. These actions exposed COINTELPRO, the FBI's illegal surveillance program that involved the intimidation of law-abiding Americans and helped lead to the country's first Congressional investigation of U.S. intelligence agencies. Never caught, forty-four years later, these everyday Americans - parents, teachers and citizens - publicly reveal themselves for the first time and share their story in the documentary 1971.
