Aerobatics Practice

The New England Aerobatic Club will practice at Keene on Saturday, weather permitting.  They will brief at the terminal at approximately 9:30AM and have invited the public to listen to their safety brief.  Their practice box (see picture below) does include modifications to the pattern at Keene so please check NOTAMS.

This link explains more detail about how the aerobatics box and practice sessions work.

Incorrect Dates on A/FD

If you've purchased one lately, take a look at your Airport/Facility Directory (A/FD).  The effective dates were printed incorrectly.  The incorrect effective date of 25 June 2015 was printed on the covers of the 30 April 2015 A/FDs and Supplements. Please see 15-04 Safety Alert for complete information.

Dynamic Prop Balancing

Monadnock Aviation offers dynamic propeller balancing for your aircraft.

An out of balance prop can cause vibration throughout the entire airframe which can, over time, cause component fatigue and damage.   Having a dynamically balanced prop provides for increased safety, comfort, aircraft reliability, and reduced maintenance costs.

Many pilots report they did not realize their prop was not balanced.  They had become desensitized to the vibration or assumed that is was a normal product of an operating engine.  It is not until after the propeller is dynamically balanced that the difference- a smoother ride and less pilot fatigue- is notable.  This AOPA article discusses the benefits of proper balancing.

The charge for this service is $275.  Please contact us to schedule your balancing.
