Why Come to Keene?

For

April 16-18

The third annual MONIFF is just around the corner!  The films will be viewed in Keene's historic Colonial Theatre and Keene State College's Putnam Theater and Centennial Hall, while the receptions and panels will be held at fantastic locations on our beautiful Main Street.

This festival brings movies, and their makers and actors, from around the world to the Monadnock Region.    Come to the film screenings, panel discussions with film makers, actors and directors, and parties on each evening of the event.

Please let us know if you need help with ground transportation or hotel reservations.

Private Pilot Ground School

Sign up now for Private Pilot Ground School at Monadnock Aviation.  Our Ground School will begin in late April and meet one night a week for approximately 13 weeks.

If you are a student preparing for your FAA written exam, a pilot who wants to refresh on the basics, or if you're a non-aviator who just wants to expand your horizons then this class is for you.  The cost will be $250.  Email me or call 603-357-7600 to sign up.

Rose is Out-of-the-Blue!

Congratulations are in order for Rose Dussell, the newest pilot at the Keene Airport!  Rose earned her pilot's license after training in our Piper Warriors with CFIs Gene Moody and Rick Beck.  Her check ride was with FAA Designated Pilot Examiner Greg Livernois.

Rose is Monadnock Aviation's first Out of the Blue Scholarship recipient- and our first scholarship recipient to complete her training!  Now, with her gold wings proudly displayed, she is off to the West Coast to further her aviation studies. Terrific job Rose!

Congratulations John

Congratulations to John Esteban who earned his Private Pilot's License!  It was particularly thrilling to see John achieve his goal as he has carried the dream for 38 years.  He began his training almost four decades ago and was forced to stop mid-way through by other priorities in life.

John trained with CFI Rick Beck in our Piper Warriors and had his check ride with Designated Pilot Examiner Greg Livernois.  It was truly a pleasure to award John his gold wings!
The Dinner Table

Did you know there is a restaurant at the Keene Airport which serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner seven days a week?  The Dinner Table is a thirty second walk off the East ramp at Keene.  If you fly in, park in the tie down spots near the fuel farm, exit the gate and walk up the hill.  (It is where Campy's used to be, for those of you who have been around for a while.)

Time For An Instrument Rating

If it's time to start your instrument rating or complete what you began long ago, then considering training with Monadnock Aviation.

We offer a testing center on site for your knowledge exam and an FAA Designated Examiner on the field.  You can train in our Piper Warrior, our Cessna 172, or in your own aircraft.  Plus our Redbird LD is designated as an Advanced Aviation Training Device (AATD) by the FAA.  As such, it qualifies for an exemption from the Code of Federal Regulations which allows pilots applying for an instrument rating to credit up to 20 hours of training time in this device toward their aeronautical experience requirements.

This is terrific if you're serious about training.  You'll never be "weathered out" in our simulator.  And our Redbird LD rents for less then half the price of an actual airplane.  If half of your training is completed at half the cost, that means you could save 25% on the cost of renting an aircraft for your instrument rating by training with Monadnock Aviation!

PBY Catalina Restoration

Take a look at this video.  It is the fantastic story of Jim Slattery's restoration of a PBY for display in The Greatest Generation Naval Museum in San Diego.  (Thanks to Bob C for sharing this with me!)
Thank you,
