Will Santa Bring Your Instrument Rating?

Thinking about starting your instrument training?  So are we! This is a terrific time to do so.  The FAA is poised to double the amount of training time allowed in an Aviation Training Device (ATD)- such as our Redbird LD- toward an instrument rating.  Ten hours of "loggable" training time will likely be raised to twenty hours on January 20, 2015.

This change means less training time Redbirdin an aircraft and more training time in a lower priced simulator.  That saves you money, but it is not just about the dollars.  Training in a simulator is efficient and creates a safe, stable environment in which a student can really focus on learning.  Our instructors can control system failures, weather, and even pause the flight if additional discussion is needed.  Can't do that in an airplane!

Talk to our CFIIs, Gene Moody and Rick Beck, if you are considering making this step in your training.  Both are experienced in simulator training and can give you a demo flight in our Redbird.

Rusty Pilot Seminar

Are you a rusty pilot?  Then we welcome you on January 17th to our AOPA Rusty Pilot Seminar at Monadnock Aviation.  This seminar is designed to bring the less-than-current and not-very-proficient pilot back up to a knowledge level where flying can be a reality again.  The seminar fulfills the ground instruction requirement for your Flight Review.

We will begin at noon and end between 2:00 and 3:00PM depending on the length of the discussions.  There is no charge for this seminar and, if the group is full of hungry and rusty pilots, then we will take orders for pizza.

Please register for the seminar here.

Thanks Tom!

A huge thank you to CFI Tom Cahill for his safety seminar on VFR and IFR Operations earlier this month.  The turnout was good despite the weather and Tom and his wife, Jean, were terrific sports making the three hour drive to get here.

I'll end the year with this  Royal Guardsmen classic about Snoopy's Christmas.  May your holidays be filled with joy and loved ones.

Thank you,

Beth
