A Busy Saturday

Saturday is shaping up to be a very busy day at the Keene Airport.  The town triples in size this weekend for our annual Pumpkin Festival

If you are planning to attend the festival, we will have shuttle buses running between the airport and the festival.  Your patience is encouraged as you wait for the buses- it is a free service for pilots (whereas vehicles must pay in the the parking lots off airport).  Your common sense is also encouraged while parking on the ramp at the terminal.  With good weather the tie down spaces often fill up.  In year's past, we have seen some very creative parking designs!

In addition to Pumpkin Fest, the New England Aerobatic Club is hosting an aerobatic competition at Keene on Saturday.  Please check NOTAMS and see the below diagram showing the approximate location of the aerobatic box.  The box will probably be 1500' AGL to 4000' AGL.  The airport is open all day but this will impact the normal traffic pattern at Keene.  Did I mention to check NOTAMS?

Because of all of the activity on the West ramp this Saturday, I am going to cancel our monthly barbecue for this weekend.  If you're looking for a place to eat, I recommend giving The Dinner Table a try.  It is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner seven days a week.  It is a 30 second walk off the East ramp (near the fuel pump) at Keene.

Congrats to Justin!

Congratulations to Justin Vincel for earning his Private Pilot's License.  Justin trained with CFI Rick Beck and his check ride was with Designated Pilot Examiner Greg Livernois.  Justin and his dad set off for adventure in the great blue sky that very afternoon!

Double Congratulations to Jessie

Congratulations to Jessie O'Neil.  He has earned his first solo flight and is also the latest recipient of the Out of The Blue Scholarship at Monadnock Aviation.  The scholarship will pay for up to 50% of Jessie's remaining training expenses!  We are thrilled to have Jessie train with CFI Rick Beck.
