Airline Careers Begin Here!
The aviation industry is preparing itself for a crippling shortage of commercial pilots. The situation is caused, in part, by increased minimum flight standards and the upcoming mandatory retirement of many senior airline pilots. This, coupled with an unprecedented worldwide demand for pilots, could create an ideal situation for those seeking to enter the industry.
Have you wondered how to become an airline pilot? Does the lure of flying as a career call to you? Does the low starting pay scare you off?
Join Monadnock Aviation on Thursday, March 20th at 6PM to learn about the career path of a professional pilot. We will present the facts, both good and bad, you can fly our Redbird LD simulator, see our training aircraft, and get answers to your questions. |

Congratulations Justin!
Congratulations to Justin Vincel for completing his first solo flight. Justin trains with CFI Rick Beck in our Piper Warrior. Justin is a fantastic student pilot whose maturity, skill, and good judgment will serve him well when he is Pilot in Command. Nicely done Justin! |

Restaurant Wanted
Sorry folks, last month's report that a restaurant was in Keene Airport's near future appears to have been premature. "Y Not at the Airport" is not going to be at the Airport. The City is again searching for a restaurant to occupy the space in the terminal building. Those interested can contact Airport Manager Ed Mattern via email. |

Western Maine Aviation
It hits too close to home and pains me to report that a well respected FBO is closing it's doors. This comes on the heels of Rochester Aviation's recent closing. Western Maine Aviation at Fryeburg has ceased operations citing operating expenses which exceed revenue. The airport remains open. |

Civil Air Patrol Open House
Keene's Civil Air Patrol squadron is planning an open house on May 10th. Details are not yet finalized but look forward to displays regarding their mission areas: aviation, emergency services, and cadet programs. Weather permitting, they have a CAP aircraft on site. I'll put out more details as they are finalized.

Please stop in and bid a farewell to Brittany. Brittany has been with us only a short time and has been called to duty with the Air Force Reserves. She will be deploying overseas with her aerial port squadron.
We welcome the addition of Kyle to the office staff. Kyle recently separated from the Marine Corps where he was a Huey Crew Chief based at Camp Pendleton, California.
Monadnock Aviation is here because we love aviation. We love airplanes. We love flying. We love the victory of flight. We love being around those bold enough to fly. We are open seven days a week from 8AM to 5PM if we can be of assistance with your aviation needs.
