Congratulations to Kelly

Mann who earned his Private Pilot license.  Kelly trained with CFIs Rick Bendel and Jim Daris in our Piper Warriors and had his checkride with Designated Pilot Examiner Greg Livernois. 

  

Kelly's story does not stop there.  He began his training with a mission.  His goal is to fly around the world.  A hometown boy, Kelly plans to begin and end his flight right here in Keene, NH!  Kelly writes "The World's Flight is a project to build an airplane, fly it around the world to a series of crowd sourced destinations, and share the world in its entirety through a weekly web series and feature length documentary! The flight will focus on getting into the essence of humanity and the planet we interact with. What makes this project really unique is your involvement.  You will be the one sharing your world with the rest of the world through this flying adventure!"  His mission is described more fully on www.theworldsflight.com.

  

It is June and that means one really fun 

thing here at Monadnock Aviation.  Sixty 5 year-olds crowding into our hangar, asking why that plane is blue and, with large eyes and watering mouths,

watching as pound after pound of candy drop from the sky for their retrieval! 

  

Our annual Symonds School kindergarten airport tour and candy drop was a success.  It is great to see that kids still get excited about watching airplanes fly.  Every year we hear that this is the best field trip of the school year.  I love that kids are leaving the airport excited about planes and filled with great memories.

The question of what restaurant will fill the space here at Keene's terminal building has likely been decided.  JimEddie's is the remaining of two bidders.  No word yet on an opening date, or menu details, but we are looking forward to those with great anticipation!  Jimmy runs a terrific restaurant in Keene so we have high hopes for this new location.
