'Tis the Season of GIVING!
This holiday make the season a little brighter for others. Giving back is a great thing to do all year round, but the holidays tend to bring out the charitable side in most people. Try some of these ideas with your family and make a difference this holiday season:
- Donate to a charitable organization
- Invite an elderly neighbor or someone who lives alone to join your celebration (ask your parents first!)
- Deliver a meal to a family in need
- Write a thoughtful note to someone special
- Bring your host a small gift to show your appreciation and offer to help clean up
- Donate clothes you've outgrown
- Donate food to a local charity or food bank
- Volunteer at a soup kitchen
- Send a care package to a soldier
- Visit hospital patients
- Foster a dog or cat
- Adopt an endangered animal through a zoo
- Shovel snow for a neighbor
- Help pick up trash at a local park
- Join a church or school group that does community service projects
This holiday season we are going through our closets and donating to NEXT DOOR SOLUTIONS for the victims of domestic violence and their families. Also, if you are storing old holidays cards, please consider recycling them to the St. Jude's Ranch for Children at Recycled Card Program or to the Convalescent Home Ministry

Reading Partners needs your help!
| Would you like to help a needy child progress at least one grade level in their reading? Nearby schools have a program called Reading Partners. This is a non-profit that provides a terrific tutoring program to students in grades K-5 at a nearby local elementary school. You can make a big difference by spending an hour or two each week with your own assigned student.

Villages Library
| Didn't know that the Villages had a Library? The Library workers volunteer their time to keep The Villages Library active and serviceable. The volunteers are very devoted. They faithfully come in at assigned times to provide a professional up-to-date card file system for all Villagers.
The Library is WiFi connected with a computer available for residents to use and the Library is stocked with Best Sellers, hard back, paper backs, large print, magazines, newspapers, DVD's and videos.
The Library staff members oversee the sale of excess books and those sales provide operating funds for supplies to catalog library items, monitor circulation, etc.
This is the gathering place for all who love books and like to share and learn. Stop in on your next trip to the Cribari Auditorium!
