This week in San Pancho was... exhausting!  There were so many cool events put on by the town that it was hard to keep up with it all.
We were treated to the most generous and classy 10th anniversary party of Maria's Restaurant.  Inés was dressed in a stunning black outfit and looked like the royalty that she is in our eyes.  She humbly thanked all the people of the town and all the wonderful people working together who make Maria's the huge success that it has become.  The street was closed and we were fed like kings while listening to two local bands and a gigantic Mariachi band...Everyone in the town danced and ate and celebrated together.  I think my favorite part was seeing Ramona - Inés' mother, singing with the Mariachis!  It was one of the best parties we have ever seen in San Pancho!

...and then the very next day, we had the Entreamigos 10-year anniversary celebration, which started with a parade down the main street - all the kids were dressed up in fun costumes and some delightful artistic creations were wandering amongst them.  The parade ended in the Plaza where everyone was treated to an incredible display of photo walls detailing the history of Entreamigos, and then suddenly everyone started dancing ... it was a flash mob performance!  The Plaza was filled with festivity and we all enjoyed games, food and music.   It was wonderful to see everyone enjoying another creative and beautiful event put on for the town by Entreamigos.

...and if that wasn't enough, we celebrated the 20th Anniversary of La Ola Rica.  Trini & Gloria partitioned off Tercer Mundo to create a large ballroom right in front of the restaurant.  The food was great, the music wonderful and there was a touching slide show that highlighted the sweet history of the 20 years of those two incredible women working hard while enjoying life and family and friends. They thanked their staff with gifts and hugs, they even had a fireworks show, and the band played on with Cuban music for dancing into the night.

We all like to think of San Pancho as a sleepy little village but sometimes it can be the most happenin place on Earth!

Earl Miller - Street Wise
Earl Miller - Man on the Street
Spent the past week finding out what's up with a few people we see in town.  Here's the scoop.

Sandy Tomlinson,
Regina Beach, Saskatchewan Canada

How did you find San Pancho?
A realtor thought we might like San Pancho. We were in Bucerious on vacation and we took a trip here. We loved it.

What do you do?
A professional fund raiser... And by the way our next fundraiser is the hospital fundraiser on March 12 th at the plaza. One of our very important programs in the village.

What is the best thing for you about San Pancho?
The locals and their way of life. Family is the most important factor in their lives.

Diana Garcia,
San Pancho

Where are you from?
Born right here in San Pancho in the hospital in town.

How did you find San Pancho?
I have only lived for three years out of San Pancho. I moved to Puerto Vallarta and was so happy to move home to S.P.

What do you do?
I manage a hotel downtown and I also live in what is known by the locals as the Taj Mahal.

What is the best thing for you about San Pancho?
The best thing about San Pancho is that the young children and one being my daughter get to enjoy so many activities put on by Entre Amigos, The Polo Club, Cirque De Los Niños

Dee Dobrzykowski
Ghent, Belgium

Where are you from?
I'm originally from Baltimore, Maryland and I'm currently residing in Ghent, Belgium. My family has relocated many times moving to Benicia, CA., where we met Earl and Jane to Dallas, Forth Worth area to now Belgium.

How did you find San Pancho?
I visited San Pancho about 10 years ago. I was an accountant back then but now I'm retired but my husband's job took us to our final move to Ghent.  He works for an American Company who owns a subsidiary there called Pro-Duo and Sinelco which is a distributor and manufacturer of professional hair care products, beauty and equipment.
Hopefully in 2018 we will move back to the states permanently and enjoy a lot of our retirement traveling and living in San Pancho about 4 months of the year.

What is the best thing for you about San Pancho?
There are so many things about San Pancho I love. Tom and I are city people but enjoy the country as well. We love to walk everywhere and enjoy the beach.

In San Pancho, you can get up in the morning and get a Cafe Latte and then walk around the city to the golf course, the polo club, the jungle or the beach. You could even go for a run, do Yoga, Zumba or Pilates. You can even play 9 rounds of golf if you like. You can also enjoy the many restaurants, music and dancing throughout the town as well local events put on by Entreamigos, Im-Prov and the Music festival. You can enjoy sitting on the beach during the day to go surfing and swimming or just enjoying the beautiful daily sunset. The most beautiful thing about San Pancho besides this pictures town is the people. The Mexican people are warm and embracing and the retired/ vacationers are friendly. When you come to San Pancho you feel like your part of an extended family and everyone seems so inviting and it's a place where everyone just seems to know your name. Tom and I can't wait to be fully retired to enjoy San Pancho and all it has to offer as well as spend our time with all the friends we have found there.

Thanks Earl, Sandy, Diana & Dee!

Hospital Fundraiser Event

Can you imagine if you desperately needed medications, x-rays or treatment and just didn't have the money to pay for it.  So many in San Pancho and area find themselves in this situation.

Our cause is to continue with a special fund in our second annual fundraiser  for the hospital where the proceeds will be used where most needed .. often for medicine and medical procedures, x-rays,  casts for broken bones,  prosthetic and orthopedic devices .... making an incredible difference to the lives of less fortunate that would not afford the treatment themselves.  We have the support of Social Services to identify special needs.
So many benefitted from last year's fundraiser.  This year's will take place at the plaza on March 12th ..commencing at 6:00pm. The event will include a meal and live entertainment along with the silent auction.

Tickets can be purchased from Jeanette, Sandy, Maria's restaurant, Nancy, Angelica at las Palmas, and Michelle at Lloyds Realty.

Camino de Hazaña"
March 16, 17, 18 & 19 - all shows at 8:00 PM

Venue: Bodega Circo de los Ninos
San Francisco (San Pancho)

March 2016 marks the 5th Anniversary of Circo de los Ninos de San Pancho. We have gone a long way  since our first two-week workshop where  a group of  50 children played and performed with our visiting teachers from Montreal. What began then as an introduction of the Circus Arts has now grown to be the school of Circo de los Ninos de San Pancho with a professional team of instructors from Mexico and over 140 young people experiencing the magic of Circus and other performance arts.

On March 16th -19th, the school will once again transform into an elaborate and fantastic stage presenting the talents of our young students. Directed by Gilles St. Croix and co-designed by Monique Voyer (founding directors of the project), this unique production is a benefit event to support the programs at Circo de los Ninos de San Pancho.
