The soccer field Paint by Numbers mural will be ready for colors on Saturday morning, Dec. 14, at 11 a.m.!
Everyone is invited. Please pass the word to your neighbors, friends and workers to come and paint. We'll have a little piece for everyone to color.
Anyone interested in volunteering to help with putting smocks on children, handing out afternoon hot dogs, or general miscellaneous helping-out is encouraged to email Candice at sanpanchovida@seanet.com, or just show up when you can tomorrow. We'll probably be painting all day.
See you there and thanks for all the great support!

From Tamara Jacobi:
Hola San Pancho Amigos!
As you all know, the jungle girl loves her greens and veggies. With this in mind, I'm thrilled to introduce you to Britta Jankay and her new organic farm in San Pancho, "Ranchito Del Mar". When I visited Britta's fantastic ranchito last week I felt like a kid in a candy store! The garden is heaven (see photos attached). Beautiful rows of organic veggies are ready and waiting for your holiday feasts. Not only are these veggies incredibly tasty (and packed with valuable nutrition!), they're also a lovely 10 minute walk from San Pancho. AND, Britta has decided to start up San Pancho's first CSA (community supported agriculture). Please spread the word to your friends!
Here's the scoop:
You're Invited:
Wednesday Dec. 18th, between 9 - 11 am

Garden is located on the road to the new polo field. It's very easy to find, simply follow the dirt road from the hospital, wind around behind the golf course and take a right onto a dirt road that heads out to the polo field. Within a half mile you'll see the garden on your left, just look for the veggies! If you get lost, call Britta at 322 229 0150.
The CSA Concept Community supported agriculture is a way for consumers to buy local, seasonal food directly from a farmer. When you become a member of the CSA you'll be buying a share (veggies) of the garden and supporting the garden as it flourishes. Ranchito del Mar is such a wonderful addition to the San Pancho community. Bring on the organic veggies! Happy holidays to you all and I hope to see you at the garden on Wednesday! -Tamara ____________________________________________________________ And from Hilloah Rohr:
Today I witnessed a very magical, once in a lifetime experience. I was walking along the totally deserted north end of the beach in San Pancho around 2pm and was suddenly aware of a noise. As I turned to look back I realized that I had just walked past a nesting Ridley Sea Turtle. She seemed huge! My awareness went many places at once. I didn't want to scare or disturb her. I wanted to immediately alert our turtle conservancy before any harm could come to the eggs and I wanted to get a photo! I took a quick photo from a good distance and put several items around her to protect her and since no one was around I ran down to a friends house to try to call "Turtle Frank". My friend was not there and by the time I got back, which was not long, she had quickly finished her business and exited back into the Pacific Ocean. I didn't know she could move so fast! It was a very steep part of the beach that she had climbed and she made it a quick exit.
About that time three folks from Seattle walked out on the beach and offered to drive down to Franks while I stayed with the nest. I carefully delineated the site and short order Frank and volunteer Sofia from Hungary arrived. After some minutes of probing Frank found the eggs buried what seemed to me surprisingly deep. There were 110 of them! They are now safely in the nursery waiting to hatch with the rest of the recovered nests.
I'm still in awe of the size, strength and perseverance of that old girl. My hats off to her! It's one of the reasons I love it here along the Pacific coast of Mexico. The animal life is so amazingly rich. What a gift!
