Farmers' Market Vendor Wish List

The Ringwood Farmers' Market is preparing for our 7th Season! The Board of Eat Local has put together this "Vendor Wish List" for our upcoming season which list includes those vendors that will be welcomed to apply as a summer-season vendor.

Acceptance to the market will be decided after a site visit and a personal discussion with board members. A market vendor who intends to sell prepared foods must be preparing the food in a licensed commercial kitchen. Any interested vendor should send a letter of introduction with a product list to Nina Bertsch at redbarnnina@hotmail.com.

Great, Seasonal, Ready-to-take-home soups
Soap and Body products, including aromatherapy
Wine
Spices-dried and jarred spice mixes for rubs and dips
Flavored oil and vinegar

Greetings!

It's the last Winter Market of the season. Time sure does fly! The Eat Local Board has been working hard prepping for our new season, working to make our 7th season the best one yet! We will be joined this season by our old favorites and some new faces and we know you'll love them as much as we do.

Thank you for supporting the market through the winter months. We are grateful to our loyal market customers.

The next market isn't until May 25th, so be sure to stock up on Saturday. Here's a taste of what you can expect:
 
Pansies at the Market

With the weather warming up, the grill is coming out of hibernation! We have half chickens, burgers, steaks, sausage and pork chops to put on the grill. We have some cool days ahead yet so  the beef cubes can go either for shish-kebobs or stew. And for those busy days when you want supper ready when you walk through the door at the end of a long day - how about throwing some short ribs into the crock pot? Don't forget the eggs - perfect for breakfast, lunch or supper!

 

R&L Greenhouses is coming with pansies!  

 

Wiltbank Farm ~ Gary will have oyster and shiitake mushrooms and maybe even shiitake hummus! 

 

The Empanada Lady ~ Ready to eat? Hot Empanadas filled with the traditional flavors as well as the succulent slowed cooked BBQ Pulled Pork and of course the guiltless pleasure of the Spinach & Feta Empanada will be available to eat while you continue to shop around and chat with the other marketeers.  

 
These Empanadas are also available frozen to enjoy at home at anytime. Yummy Salsa Picante Sauce that just compliments any meal on your kitchen table... Try using Empanada Lady's Sofrito, Spanish Stir Fry Cooking Base. A tradition in Latin America, from Mi Casa to yours.

 

We have a special treat this weekend! For the sweet tooth in you or for your kids, the Banana Nutella and the Strawberry Nutella Empanadas are leaving lasting impressions. The Cuban Classic, little bit of heaven Guava and Cream Cheese is a must. Sweet. So make sure to stop by Empanada Lady's table for some samples...

Edgwick Farm ~ With spring finally starting, the Edgwick Farmgoats are producing lots of fresh milk.  Talitha and Dan made a fresh batch of whole goat milk ricotta for Saturday. Edgwick Farm is also bringing Moodna feta and fresh Canterbury chevre as well as the Marinated Canterbury. Due to the cancellation of the New Amsterdam Market in NYC, there will be a two for the price of one special for all three bloomy rind mini-wheels: Idlelwild (plain), Aleck Meadow (with herbs de provence) and Firthcliffe (with ash).  Stock up on your cheese Saturday because the next market isn't until May 25th!

   

Janet's Baked Goods ~ is coming with artisan breads and other tasty treats.


Red Barn Farm ~ Delicious local eggs and honey,

B&B Jams ~ homemade jams and jellies.

    

Orchards of Concklin will not be joining us this month, but they are looking forward to being with us for Season 7! 
  
Fontanarosa's ~ don't forget the ravioli! 

 

Joi of Pickels is coming with fresh pickles in a variety of flavors along with olives, pickled tomatoes and giardiniera salad.

Pie Eyed Pizza will have frozen pizzas, sauces, savory breads and soup!

Bialas Farms is finished for the season, settling in for a short winter nap before prepping for the next growing season. We can't wait to see them in the spring!
