What's Happening at the Ringwood Farmers' Market this Week?
Greetings!

Thank you to all of our loyal and new market supporters! We had a successful opening day; everyone was so happy to be back in full swing and the weather was perfect. If you haven't yet met our new vendor, Conturso's Market, be sure to stop by their booth and have a taste of one of their stuffed breads. They also have homemade tortilla chips that are so good, you'll likely finish them on the way home! They also have take-and-bake pizzas in a number of varieties for easy weeknight meals.

Below is a snippet of what to expect at this week's market. "Meet Me at the Market!"

Bialas Farms ~
Spend an hour getting your flower bed ready to receive a bounty of fresh herb plants and they will reward you for months (sometimes years) to come!  We'll have 25 different varieties of all of your favorite herbs, plus some you'll love but have never heard of.  A planter of herbs on your deck or patio is perfect and convenient.  Your culinary creations will SING with flavor.

Lots more veggies coming in as the summer progresses.  We promise to bring more radishes this week, and spinach, and arugula, and maybe even some lettuce and bok choy!

Orchards of Concklin
~ It's the peak of strawberry season, and they'll also have greenhouse tomatoes and asparagus. Don't forget to pick up some apples and apple cider, apple cider donuts, pies and quiches!

Nina's Red Barn Farm is bringing a variety of salad greens, sauté greens, eggs and honey. Have you tried a honey stick lately?

Janet's Baked Goods wants to remind you to stop in and say hello!  They will be featuring our 100% New York State Flour Country Golden Loaf, made with locally grown and milled flours.  They'll also have Almond Croissants and Almond Apple Croissants, Scones and assorted fresh baked treats. Looking forward to seeing everyone at the market this Saturday!

The Market is now accepting SNAP Benefit Cards (EBT) ~

In continuing our effort to bring fresh, local produce to the Ringwood community, the Ringwood Farmers' Market is happy to announce that they are now able to accept EBT (Food Stamp & Cash Assistance Benefits -- SNAP) cards.  Beginning June 9th, EBT card holders can go to the Market Manager tent and use their benefits to purchase "Green Market Bucks".  The "Green Market Bucks" can then be used to purchase eligible food and beverages at the market.

Did You know?
This Month's Full Moon on June 4th is the Strawberry Moon. This name was universal to every Algonquin tribe. However, in Europe they called it the Rose Moon. Also because the relatively short season for harvesting strawberries comes each year during the month of June . . . so the full Moon that occurs during that month was christened for the strawberry! No wonder it's Peak Strawberry Time at Orchards of Concklin!
