Beginning January 1, 2014, the Affordable Care Act (ACA) will dramatically change the types of small group health insurance plans available and how their premiums are calculated.

The Alpha Group is working with all of our health carrier partners to analyze whether an "Early Renewal" option makes sense for our clients. In order to get "Early Renewal" rate and plan design information, you may be asked to sign and date a request form. Alpha will assist you as the carriers finalize the process they will be using.

In addition to helping small group employers buy some valuable time to evaluate your best long-term strategy under PPACA, changing your renewal or anniversary date will allow you to:

• Keep your plan stable during changing times
• Lock in your current benefits a little longer
• Avoid possible significant rate increases
• Focus on running your business and leading your company

For some groups, changing the anniversary date may not be in your organization's best interest, but Alpha wants to make certain that you at least have the information and opportunity to do so if it is beneficial. We will be in contact shortly once we have additional information from each of the carriers.
