September is National Library Card Sign-up Month

Encourage someone to get the smartest card: a library card.

Official Proclamation
Greenfield Mayor Richard J. Pasco has proclaimed September as "Library Card Sign-up Month." Library Board President Sen. Beverly Gard and Library Director Dave Gray received the proclamation.
Mayor Pasco uses his card to download magazines from the library's Zinio service.

Enter Prize Drawings During Sign-up Month
- Hancock County residents who apply for a new library card or renew an expired one will have their names entered in a prize drawing that includes a Kindle Fire HD as the grand prize and a $50 gift card bundle as second prize.
- Hancock County residents with a current card won't be left out. They can enter an identical drawing when they visit the library or Techmobile.

Food for Fines: September 15-21
For one week, get pesky fines waived from your library card in exchange for non-perishable food in cans or boxes. Or bring unopened toilet paper, toiletries, or laundry detergent (which food stamps don't cover). These items will help stock the Hancock County Food Pantry.
Bring donations to the library check-out desks. Each item equals $1 off fines, up to $10. (This does not include replacement fees for lost or damaged materials or collection agency fees.)
