Roll Your Own - Bull City Cigars of Durham at Nofo's Cigar Social
September 28th

There was once a time when a man with a cigar in his mouth was held in high regard; a time when a young man toasted farewell to adolescence by igniting the end of a cigar that just happened to slip out of his father's humidor. A time where the arrival of a man's progeny was celebrated with cigars in the hospital's waiting room.

Roll 'em: Let's roll back to those glorious times as we learn how cigars are rolled. Come to Nofo's Cigar Social featuring Bull City Cigars of Durham on Monday, September 28, from 5pm to 8pm. Meet Jeff Amendola, owner of Bull City Cigars in Durham. Jeff will be hand rolling cigars and talking about the history and profiles of his cigars.

There will be outdoor areas for cigar sampling along with Three Food & Drink Pairing Stations:
Roasted oysters, beer, & cigars
Charcuterie, bourbon, & cigars
Chocolate, bourbon, coffee, wine & cigars

Julie Nauman from A Chocolate Passion and Josh Trevino from Torch Coffee will be on site as well.

Nofo will also be carrying Bull City's House Blend, Ecuador, Torpedo Maduro, Sweet Carolina & The Brightleaf made with North Carolina tobacco. Make your reservations quickly. Space is limited. (919-821-1240, $30pp)

Ask Hilary...Whether to Love It or List It

It is that time of year again for the Southern Ideal Home Show at the NC State Fairgrounds. Being held September 25 - 27 and it will again feature their popular Brews and Bites event each day which highlights food and drinks from local restaurants, breweries and wineries. There will be lots of great choices and giveaways each day. Get all the details by clicking here.

Hilary Farr, the current host of the HGTV home improvement show, "Love it or List It", will share her design expertise, tips and tricks at two Question and Answer Sessions on Saturday, Sept. 26 at Noon and 3:30pm.

As an experienced interior designer, Farr understands the nuts and bolts of the business, from building from the ground up, to room additions, from renovations to the execution of design and beauty. She understands the art of setting the stage and the importance of lighting to set the mood and atmosphere. Farr's designs are based upon her ability to listen to and understand the personalities of her clients.

Farr has a keen eye and when she first moved back to Toronto, she became the first designer to "stage" properties for sale. Since that time she has watched that industry flourish. "I love making houses into homes, watching families embrace their new lives, and knowing that I contributed to their happiness. My clients are from both sides of the border, some of whom have been with me from the day they were married to their fourth home and now their fourth child!"

The show, "Love It or List It" has been in production for 26 episodes in Raleigh since last fall. (The new season begins Monday, Sept. 21st featuring more Triangle homes.)

The Beltline Buzz items are selected by our editors.  No one can pay to be featured on
The Beltline Buzz..  That's what advertising is for, and it's always labeled as such.  Selling ourselves (literally) would destroy the legitimacy, integrity, and fun of
The Beltline Buzz.  Plus, we'd never earn your trust that way.  So we'll never make a dime off your meal at a restaurant nor a penny from the sale of the latest accessory we told you about.

That said, on occasion, we will send out "Dedicated" e-mails on behalf of sponsors.  You'll recognize them from the subject line: "The Beltline Buzz Dedicated E-mail."  Yes, these are paid for.  And, no, we would never sell our subscriber list to anyone.  Not for any amount of money.

We hope that you continue to enjoy your Beltline Buzz.  We look forward to delivering it.
