Endless Possibilities with Italian Connections -
Nina's Ristorante & Positalia Italian Eatery

You can take Nina Psarros  out of Italy, but you can't take Italy out of Nina Psarros- or her cooking skills and love of Italian foods. This Raleigh restaurant owner of Nina's Ristorante at 8801 Leadmine Rd. in North Raleigh has shared homemade recipes with happy customers since 1999.

Nina began cooking as a child learning from her mother in Palermo, Sicily. Her first restaurant was in Suffren, NY called Da Nina's. It quickly became a four-star restaurant, culling remarks like "you'll never taste cuisine like this in this country" to "extraordinary restaurant at an ordinary price."

And today Nina's restaurant provides this ever-growing area with Tuscan cuisine that is heavy on flavor and light on the ingredients. Click here for menu. The exclusively Italian wine list allows one to further the education of Italian wine and its grape varietals while offering something new and wonderful for  guests to experience.

This amazing chef not only runs her restaurant with her husband Chris in Raleigh but is also the new Executive Chef at Positalia Italian Eatery; a restaurant and a new concept in enjoying fresh Italian fares that's just opened at Mayfaire Community Center in Wilmington, NC.

The brains behind Positalia comes from Bullard Restaurant Group's president, Clif Bullard with visions to open more in the Triangle area in 2016. But asking Nina to partner with him was even more genius.

Positalia Menu offers a create-your-own style experience where diners select pasta bowls, salads or piadinas (a thin Italian flatbread filled and wrapped around your choice of fresh ingredients). Then they select a topping hot off the grill; such as grilled chicken, meatballs, steak, grilled veggies and more. Next, make the dish your own by adding any combination of fresh flavors and delicious homemade sauces + dressings. Whatever you choose, you'll know it will be Positively Delicious!

The menu also includes one of Nina Psarros's specialties, Chicken Sicilian which is chicken and eggplant, lightly breaded and pan-seared topped with marinara sauce and mozzarella.

Nina spent many hours in the kitchen experimenting, recipe after recipe taking pleasure in providing a culinary experience that ensures quality, freshness and deliciousness. Her recipes are followed to a T with assurance of fresh, authentic Italian cuisine in a positive, fast casual atmosphere that is absolutely delicious!

Try Something New - Downtown Raleigh Restaurant Week Aug. 17-23

There are always places you've wanted to venture out and try. But you always seem to get hung up on the same ol' same ol'. Restaurant Week's dare you to step out of your comfort zone and try new intriguing places to dine. So now's the time to plan your week and try something new for a change!

Not to be confused with Triangle Restaurant Week, the Downtown Raleigh Restaurant Week will take place starting Monday, August 17 through Sunday, August 23, 2015. This year, Downtown Raleigh Restaurant Week has expanded to include lunch menus and an exciting new Do-It-Yourself Progressive Dinner option. This option will encourage patrons to visit a different restaurant for each course on a tantalizing tour of downtown dining.

Participating dining establishments will offer three-course prix fixe dinners for either $20 or $30 per person, $5 or $10 lunch menus, and/or a special appetizer, entre, or dessert for the Progressive Dinner option, depending on the venue (tax, tip, and beverages not included).

Start planning for Downtown Raleigh Restaurant Week today by clicking here to see who's participating and then making your reservations for next week. Participating restaurants may select one specific course to feature during restaurant week without price restrictions under one or more of the following categories: Appetizer, Entre, Dessert.

Have it Your Way - Downtown Raleigh Alliance invites you to build your own progressive dinner by enjoying one course at as many different restaurants as you'd like, as opposed to a three-course meal at one venue. In preparation for this exciting new option, participating restaurants are encouraged to collaborate with one another to create a "tour of downtown Raleigh dining."

The Beltline Buzz items are selected by our editors.  No one can pay to be featured on
The Beltline Buzz..  That's what advertising is for, and it's always labeled as such.  Selling ourselves (literally) would destroy the legitimacy, integrity, and fun of
The Beltline Buzz.  Plus, we'd never earn your trust that way.  So we'll never make a dime off your meal at a restaurant nor a penny from the sale of the latest accessory we told you about.

That said, on occasion, we will send out "Dedicated" e-mails on behalf of sponsors.  You'll recognize them from the subject line: "The Beltline Buzz Dedicated E-mail."  Yes, these are paid for.  And, no, we would never sell our subscriber list to anyone.  Not for any amount of money.

We hope that you continue to enjoy your Beltline Buzz.  We look forward to delivering it.
