The Giving Tree - Raleigh Beer Garden Opens

The most famous beer gardens in the world may be in Munich, home of Oktoberfest, but that doesn't mean you need to head overseas to enjoy this al fresco drinking pastime. US beer gardens have been cropping up in recent years. Beer lovers can now sample a wider selection of brews close to home.

One thing beer gardens share in common is a passion for fine pours and convivial outdoor settings. Adding to this new trend is the new Glenwood South Raleigh Beer Garden opening Tuesday at 11am.

A traditional German beer garden is little more than a shaded grove with picnic tables, but the new Raleigh Beer Garden has tons of outdoor atmosphere inside and out, from the ground floor to the roof overlooking downtown. Oak and pecan trees give this garden a "made in the shade" feel.

When guests first walk in, they see a high-end cocktail bar made from the pecan tree cut from  the property site. The bar displays locally distilled spirits as well as 144 North Carolina craft beers on tap.

A live oak tree with hanging lanterns extends all the way to the upstairs where guests will find an additional 222 beers from across the country and around the world. That totals 366 beers on tap! This means you can have a different beer every day of the year...including leap year.

The man behind such powerhouse restaurants, Hibernian Irish Pub, Solas, Dos Taquitos Xoco and the The Station, Niall Hanley is the genius behind this extreme multi-tap restaurant. The Beer Garden will be serving pizzas, burgers, salads, and appetizers.

The last half of summer is still a-brewing. Make the most of the hot days and nights at Raleigh Beer Garden where beer is the star.

Raleigh Beer Garden - 614 Glenwood Ave. Raleigh, 27603. Ph:(984) 232-8074.
Grand Opening - Tuesday, July 21st, 11:00am.

The Beltline Buzz items are selected by our editors.  No one can pay to be featured on
The Beltline Buzz..  That's what advertising is for, and it's always labeled as such.  Selling ourselves (literally) would destroy the legitimacy, integrity, and fun of
The Beltline Buzz.  Plus, we'd never earn your trust that way.  So we'll never make a dime off your meal at a restaurant nor a penny from the sale of the latest accessory we told you about.

That said, on occasion, we will send out "Dedicated" e-mails on behalf of sponsors.  You'll recognize them from the subject line: "The Beltline Buzz Dedicated E-mail."  Yes, these are paid for.  And, no, we would never sell our subscriber list to anyone.  Not for any amount of money.

We hope that you continue to enjoy your Beltline Buzz.  We look forward to delivering it.
