The Latest Buzz On ...
Fashion, Food & FunNew Location - Better Opa! Taverna Agora Moves To Hillsborough Street Old World - New Face: Long-time Greek restaurant, Taverna Agora, has moved to downtown Raleigh. Formerly on Glenwood Avenue (remember the strings of white lights?), the new location (next to Second Empire) officially opened June 9 and is getting rave reviews. The traditional Greek fare that made the old location a success is still the staple but there are also new menu items, an expanded bar list, and double the seating capacity (including a beautiful roof-top patio!). Miss the bright glow of the old location? No worries, Dos Taquitos is taking over the Glenwood location (August) - going from Opa! to Ol! More Space to Relax: Enter the new Taverna Agora and the first thing you'll notice is the space. Starting with the up-front covered patio, there are two main dining rooms, and a large bar area. The upstairs roof top patio is decorated in turquoise and white motif with ceiling fans and hanging plants setting the mood for relaxation and fun. Now time for food and drinks! Owner Lou Moshakos has maintained the authentic Greek kitchen. For dinner, pick from the traditional Greek tasting platters and samplers or go for a mix and match of small plates or hearty fares. The steal of the lunch menu is the pork souvlaki pita with fries at a very reasonable $9. Sunday brunch brings an added bonus to downtown and starts at 10am. Menus: Dinner, Lunch, Sunday Brunch Taverna Agora: 326 Hillsborough Street, Raleigh; Open: Monday - Thursday 11am - 11pm, Friday - Saturday to Midnight, Sunday Brunch 10am - 3pm - Dinner to 10pm; Contact: 919.881.8333, Website

The Beltline Buzz items are selected by our editors. No one can pay to be featured on
The Beltline Buzz.. That's what advertising is for, and it's always labeled as such. Selling ourselves (literally) would destroy the legitimacy, integrity, and fun of
The Beltline Buzz. Plus, we'd never earn your trust that way. So we'll never make a dime off your meal at a restaurant nor a penny from the sale of the latest accessory we told you about.
That said, on occasion, we will send out "Dedicated" e-mails on behalf of sponsors. You'll recognize them from the subject line: "The Beltline Buzz Dedicated E-mail." Yes, these are paid for. And, no, we would never sell our subscriber list to anyone. Not for any amount of money.
We hope that you continue to enjoy your Beltline Buzz. We look forward to delivering it.
