On the Road Again - Farm Aid Comes to Walnut Creek Amphitheatre on September 13
What is forty feet long and has eight teeth? ... The front row at a Willie Nelson concert? Ok, jokes aside ... Farm Aid is an all-day music and food festival which brings together a wide variety of musicians, farmers and fans for one mission: to keep family farmers on their land. It is the longest running benefit concert series in America, raising more than $45 million to help family farmers thrive all over the country. This year Farm Aid 2014 is coming to Walnut Creek Amphitheatre in Raleigh on September 13! The concert lineup features Willie Nelson & Family, Neil Young, John Mellencamp, Dave Matthews & Tim Reynolds, Jack White and more. Concert Lineup

Good Food for Good Health: "Eating Activism" is a good way to get involved with farm activism. In the past decade we have witnessed the growth of a mass cultural movement demanding good food from family farms. Local Triangle restaurants are increasingly partnering with local farmers to bring seasonal, farm to table menu items. You can also wear your activism (in addition to your waistline) by buying one of the Farm Aid T-Shirts, hats, or other US -made merchandise at the concert or online. Website

Its Cool to Stay in School! - Wine, Women & Shoes, Oct. 9
The school year's just begun and we find out in North Carolina, 73 students drop out of school every school day! Holy cow!... Can you do the Math? Not only does dropping out affect their future, but it affects the future of our state's economy. A single high school dropout costs the state approximately $275,000 in lost earnings, taxes and productivity.
Communities In Schools (CISNC) makes a commitment to our youth; to build and sustain healthy nonprofit organizations that are rooted in the community for the long haul. They make sure students are graduating on time, prepared for college, career and life.
You can help by attending Wine, Women & Shoes being held at Talley Student Union at NCSU on Thursday, October 9 from 6:30-10:00 p.m. to benefit Communities In Schools of North Carolina (CISNC).
Wine, Women & Shoes is an evening to sip-sational wines, shop the marketplace, enjoy a glamorous fashion show and the latest fashions while providing pivotal resources for students placed at risk of leaving school early. Proceeds allow CISNC to reach more students with unique programs and services to promote success in school and life, allowing students to grow into valued members of the community.
Be there. Be fabulous! Guests will enjoy browsing through displays from local clothing and accessories vendors. Some of the Triangle's top male leaders will be dazzling guests with the latest shoe selections as "Shoe Guys," and vendors will be donating portions of all sales to CISNC.
Do it for the kids; they're the future of our state! That's cool!

The Beltline Buzz items are selected by our editors. No one can pay to be featured on
The Beltline Buzz.. That's what advertising is for, and it's always labeled as such. Selling ourselves (literally) would destroy the legitimacy, integrity, and fun of
The Beltline Buzz. Plus, we'd never earn your trust that way. So we'll never make a dime off your meal at a restaurant nor a penny from the sale of the latest accessory we told you about.
That said, on occasion, we will send out "Dedicated" e-mails on behalf of sponsors. You'll recognize them from the subject line: "The Beltline Buzz Dedicated E-mail." Yes, these are paid for. And, no, we would never sell our subscriber list to anyone. Not for any amount of money.
We hope that you continue to enjoy your Beltline Buzz. We look forward to delivering it.
