All Amps On Deck - Hopscotch Music Festival Electrifies Downtown Raleigh - September 4-6

Cinco de Hopscotch: The Hopscotch Music Festival, recently called "America's (Secretly) Best Festival" and "the premiere experimental and underground festival in America", is celebrating its 5th Anniversary this week (September 4-6). Featuring 160 bands over 3 days in downtown Raleigh, Hopscotch is  renown for its adventurous lineups, memorable performances, and fan-friendly  atmosphere. Thirteen venues will play host to the concert goers ... setting the stage for rock, folk, hip hop, metal, experimental, and more. Available tickets include 3-day, all event wristbands ($150), 1-day, all event wristbands ($75 & $85), and individual tickets for the City Plaza headliner shows.  Tickets, Map

Raleigh, The Epicenter for Groundbreaking Music: Although originally patterned after Austin's "South by Southwest" Festival, the Hopscotch Music Festival has now claimed its own identity. From the large outdoor main stage in Raleigh City Plaza to the intimate club shows, Hopscotch puts Raleigh front and center for ground breaking music. Other featured venues include Lincoln Theatre, CAM, Tir na Nog, Pour House, Deep South, Vintage 21, and other well-known downtown hot spots. Performers creating a buzz this year include indie-rock favorites Spoon & the hard rock group Mastodon (City Plaza headliners - Sept. 5 & 6). Sun Kil Moon and the pummeling High On Fire will play at Lincoln Theatre on Sept. 5 & 6. Other notables include De La Soul, St. Vincent, Jamie xx, and Thurston MooreHopscotch Schedule, Music Handbook

Don't Forget the Free Day Parties: There are going to be a ton of free day parties to get you psyched for the evening concerts.  There are also pre (September 3) and post event (September 7) celebrations. For a full list of the day parties and performers, go to the Hopscotch website.

The Beltline Buzz items are selected by our editors.  No one can pay to be featured on
The Beltline Buzz..  That's what advertising is for, and it's always labeled as such.  Selling ourselves (literally) would destroy the legitimacy, integrity, and fun of
The Beltline Buzz.  Plus, we'd never earn your trust that way.  So we'll never make a dime off your meal at a restaurant nor a penny from the sale of the latest accessory we told you about.

That said, on occasion, we will send out "Dedicated" e-mails on behalf of sponsors.  You'll recognize them from the subject line: "The Beltline Buzz Dedicated E-mail."  Yes, these are paid for.  And, no, we would never sell our subscriber list to anyone.  Not for any amount of money.

We hope that you continue to enjoy your Beltline Buzz.  We look forward to delivering it.
