To Bee or Not to Bee
Flounder Pounder - Tar-Pam Guide Service for NC Coastal Anglers
Targeted Species: Ever sign up for a fishing trip only to feel like you're the "chum"? You know the experience ... Captain Charterboat and his expect-a-tip mates take you on a circle tour where you drop your lines (catch a few bait fish), go to the next predestined spot (more bait fish), and get dumped back on the dock (where you feed your bait fish to the pelicans). Meanwhile, you could have filled your ice chest at the local fish market for a fraction of the cost (without enduring the heckling).
Well, get off the "targeted species" list and try Tar-Pam Guide Service; your year-round fishing connection to Eastern North Carolina's Backcountry. Tar-Pam is a professional fishing guide service; not some moonlighting "fishermen" offering weekend charters. They fish the rivers and sounds of the Inner Banks during the fall, winter, and spring and the sound, inlet, and near-shore waters of the Outer Banks (Nags Head) during the summer. Their family friendly service is instructional (for young and inexperienced anglers) and professional for all levels. Additionally, Tar-Pam offers charters to fit your needs and time constraints (see Website for more details). More for you (and less for the birds).
Halibut Forming: Contact Captain Richard Andrews at (252) 945-9715 or email (Richard@tarpamguide.com). Also, if you plan to be in the Nags Head area this summer, stop by Oregon Inlet Fishing Center (boat's name is TOPWATER). The primary charters (1/2 and full day) are light tackle excursions for Speckled Trout, Redfish, Flounder, Bluefish, and Spanish Mackerel. If you want to fish the Pamlico River (Tarpon, Giant Red Drum, Cobia, etc), Tar-Pam has another 22' Beaver Boat designed for Pamlico River and Sound fishing. Heads Up ... August & September are the months for popping cork fishing for Giant Red Drum - call now because there are limited dates available. Contact Page
Want More Inspiration? Check out these Photos. We think you will agree, there's more to catch than Pelican pellets. Fish On!

Eat It While It's Hot - Panciuto & Vietri - Southern Italian Fare
Restaurants are sprouting like alfalfa right now. You're not the only one having a hard time keeping track. But we've found one only 20 minutes away that ranks high in Southern and Italian!
Panciuto in Hillsborough, NC has been serving locally harvested dinners since 2006. Their small farm and garden sourced suppers have been winning over diners one mouthful at a time by serving Italian Southern fares. The menu is planned weekly, but changes nightly based on availability of the foods being grown in their own 'backyard'. Panciuto has been nominated for the highly esteemed James Beard Award four times, and chef/owner Aaron Vandemark is one of the youngest chefs in the country with this distinction.
As you know, Vietri was founded with the mission of inspiring families and friends to celebrate life together. Their handcrafted Italian products encourage people to slow down, appreciate time with one another, and create lifelong memories.
The Merger - On June 24th, Vietri will co-host an unforgettable dinner with Panciuto for a special dinner. Guests will gather together around a community table for an evening of local, fresh, and creative food, and Susan Gravely, Vietri's CEO and Founder, and Vandemark will speak about the passions that ignite their work. Vandemark will serve four courses on VIETRI dinnerware, and the wine will flow as readily as the conversation. At the evening's conclusion, each guest will receive a VIETRI gift by which to remember the evening.
To make a reservation, please call Panciuto at 919-732-6261. Tickets are $150 per person.

The Beltline Buzz items are selected by our editors. No one can pay to be featured on
The Beltline Buzz.. That's what advertising is for, and it's always labeled as such. Selling ourselves (literally) would destroy the legitimacy, integrity, and fun of
The Beltline Buzz. Plus, we'd never earn your trust that way. So we'll never make a dime off your meal at a restaurant nor a penny from the sale of the latest accessory we told you about.
That said, on occasion, we will send out "Dedicated" e-mails on behalf of sponsors. You'll recognize them from the subject line: "The Beltline Buzz Dedicated E-mail." Yes, these are paid for. And, no, we would never sell our subscriber list to anyone. Not for any amount of money.
We hope that you continue to enjoy your Beltline Buzz. We look forward to delivering it.
