Warm Up to Laid-Back Luxury - lori+lulu Opens in Cameron Village Today we're raising our pints of green beer to a new rock star boutique in Raleigh's Cameron Village. lori+lulu, a boutique for women of any age who want fashion that's both cool and comfortable, with silhouettes always flattering to a variety of body types. Owner, Lori Lecker says that a laid-back lifestyle, as well as luxury fashion trends and exciting colors, played a large role in her concept when creating lori+lulu. Cracking the formula of what makes an ideal ladies boutique can leave one positively knackered. Turns out, equal parts of demand for well-being, quality of life, free time and a natural style defines this shop. Craftsmanship and West Coast cool along with lines that are unique and special with color and fabric assembled in different combinations is the perfect formula. The spirit is young and happy-go-lucky, improvised and spontaneous, but with a perceptible dose of high-style and fashion. Go on, dress for comfort - it's never been slicker! With more than 90% of lori+lulu lines made in the USA, you'll find wearing what you love and loving what you wear defining your style. Nothing is too serious! Lori loves the California lifestyle and is drawn to the designers in that region. Barbara Lesser, a CA designer of casual contemporary sportswear and dresses understands the need to remain comfortable during hectic lives. Lesser wants exactly what her customers have come to expect - comfort and ease of care in a beautiful, fashionable, feminine package. JudyP another CA designer creates fit flattering tops and dresses taking you from morning to night...wherever your day starts or ends. Lecker's concept of lori+lulu was developed after owning and operating Benetton stores in the southeast for over 25 years. Her background is quality classics with an edge. She likes clean fresh modern looks that appeal to real women and fit them properly. Creativity is the ability to make tangible what is inside your soul. lori+lulu is a reflection of her and her love for what she does. Lori is passionate about her work and lives to please women and make them look and feel great about themselves. Your wardrobe should be multifunctional. If you wear clothes you love, clothes that fit, and clothes that are age appropriate, you'll be stylish. Your style becomes less about what everyone else is wearing and more about what you wear for your life...Find it at lori+lulu! lori+lulu: 412 Daniels St. Raleigh Cameron Village, 27605. Phone: 919.821.2000 Hours: Mon.-Sat. 10am-7pm, and Sun. 12 noon - 6pm. Website. |

Wanna Be Startin' Tumblin' - Cirque du Soleil's Michael Jackson, THE IMMORTAL World Tourâ„¢ at PNC Arena on April 1 & 2
 |
Michael Jackson the Immortal World Tour - Official Trailer - Cirque du Soleil |
Hee-Hee ... The King of Pop Legacy Continues: The Michael Jackson THE IMMORTAL World Tour, one of the top 10 grossing music tours of all time, will return to Raleigh on Tuesday, April 1 and Wednesday, April 2 at the PNC Arena. Created by Cirque du Soleil and directed by Jamie King, THE IMMORTAL World Tour is a departure from the company's previous touring shows. Featuring 49 international dancers, musicians, and acrobats, it is presented in a rock concert format that combines the excitement and innovation of Michael Jackson's music and choreography with Cirque du Soleil's unparalleled creativity. Since its world premiere in Montreal in October 2011, this electrifying production has thrilled audiences across North America, Europe, Asia, Australia, New Zealand, and the Middle East.
Can't Beat It! The underpinnings of THE IMMORTAL World Tour are Michael Jackson's powerful, inspirational music and lyrics. Cirque du Soleil is renowned for jaw-dropping aerial artists and freak-of-nature acrobatics. However, this show also has more of a rock concert-like setup - an 11 piece band at the back of a raised stage spurt out note-perfect renditions of his 36 hits, while costumed dancers strut around a gangway. Many of the routines recall MJ's own stage and video moves. For example, the showstopper 'Thriller' features more than a dozen demonic dancers, while aerial artists swoop up and down and evil eyes glow at the back of the stage.
Tickets are now available at ticketmaster.com or at cirquedusoleil.com/MichaelJackson or by calling 800-745-3000 or the PNC Arena Box Office (919-861-2323). Tickets range from $50 to $165 each.

The Beltline Buzz items are selected by our editors. No one can pay to be featured on The Beltline Buzz.. That's what advertising is for, and it's always labeled as such. Selling ourselves (literally) would destroy the legitimacy, integrity, and fun of The Beltline Buzz. Plus, we'd never earn your trust that way. So we'll never make a dime off your meal at a restaurant nor a penny from the sale of the latest accessory we told you about.
That said, on occasion, we will send out "Dedicated" e-mails on behalf of sponsors. You'll recognize them from the subject line: "The Beltline Buzz Dedicated E-mail." Yes, these are paid for. And, no, we would never sell our subscriber list to anyone. Not for any amount of money. We hope that you continue to enjoy your Beltline Buzz. We look forward to delivering it. |
