A No-Guts, No-Glory Approach - How to Keep Your 2014 Resolutions
Its day 20 and already resolution No. 1 'eat healthy or die trying' is looking like your funeral.
All your life you've been told, "You'll learn to love vegetables when you're older." Maybe this is the year you'll get your greens in the form of fresh juice and salads and discover how good they taste as well. Dark green vegetables are good for everyone! We don't think there's a diet out there that says green veggies are bad. Bring on the spinach!
Eat (or drink) more greens - That's why we're excited to tell you about Happy + Hale in downtown Raleigh. They're creating fresh juices and salads from local farmers that can currently be ordered online for delivery or pick-up, but are also in the process of opening a quick-service restaurant by early March. It will be located at 443 Fayetteville St, in the former Collectors Gallery space in front of Bank of America.
Tyler Helikson, Happy + Hale founder said they've discovered downtown Raleigh is ready for this healthy pick-up, quick-serve after fulfilling high demands from customers who found their delivery operation and bike cart service on the corner of Hargett and Fayetteville Streets, since opening in August 2013. The restaurant will have many of the same foods, and add some new options, including smoothies, fruit parfait, soups and coffees that will rotate among local roasters.
Happy + Hale's menu consist of a variety of healthy drinks and dishes such as the very popular Walter's Harvest salad with arugula, roasted butternut squash, dried cranberries and goat cheese, the warm Quinoa Bowl with black beans, tomatoes, onions, cilantro and feta, and the Rise 'N Shine drink with navel orange, carrot, apple and ginger root. (See Menu)
Once the restaurant is opened customers can order to-go or eat outside at one of about 15 sidewalk tables. There won't be indoor seating but they'll continue to deliver to downtowners.
Here's a bonus! Happy + Hale is now selling delicious Quinoa Bowls and salads at Cafe de los Muertos in the Warehouse District of downtown Raleigh.
Happy + Hale - Delivery Hours: Monday-Friday 8am-2pm. Delivery Radius: Downtown Raleigh area, Menu, Website, Email.
Eat your veggies! They're the freshest juices and salads in the Triangle that's sure to please your palate and your waistline!

Chop and Roll - Triangle Restaurant Week 2014 (Jan 20 - 26)
Baby It's Cold Outside: Industry peeps call it amateur hour. We call it bang-for-the-buck binging. Whatever your take, the Winter Edition Triangle Restaurant Week is back and better than ever on January 20 - 26. During this week long celebration of culinary excellence, participating restaurants from Chapel Hill to Raleigh offer three-course, prix fixe menus at lunch and dinner for $15 and $20 to $30, respectively. Prices are for each person and do not include beverages, tax or gratuity. New this year is The Chef's Table - 5 courses and 5 wines at prices ranging from $50 to $100 depending on the venue. It is available Monday through Thursday only.
Keep Calm and Dine On: So many restaurant deals, so little time. So, what's plan of attack? ... Monday's fun day; Tuesday's booze day; Wednesday's ... Wait a minute! This is getting a little overwhelming (and money's tight). Can you help us out with a Restaurant Week survival guide? Of course (or 2 or 3) - see below. So make reservations, chop and roll, and remember to please tip nicely. Participating Restaurants

The Beltline Buzz items are selected by our editors. No one can pay to be featured on The Beltline Buzz.. That's what advertising is for, and it's always labeled as such. Selling ourselves (literally) would destroy the legitimacy, integrity, and fun of The Beltline Buzz. Plus, we'd never earn your trust that way. So we'll never make a dime off your meal at a restaurant nor a penny from the sale of the latest accessory we told you about.
That said, on occasion, we will send out "Dedicated" e-mails on behalf of sponsors. You'll recognize them from the subject line: "The Beltline Buzz Dedicated E-mail." Yes, these are paid for. And, no, we would never sell our subscriber list to anyone. Not for any amount of money. We hope that you continue to enjoy your Beltline Buzz. We look forward to delivering it. |
