Fall means lots of comforting foods containing seasonal ingredients like sweet potatoes and pumpkin. While pumpkin pie is a staple of lots of holiday feasts, we wanted to share other ways to get your pumpkin-fix. Here are our five favorite pumpkin treats in the Triangle this season.

Cupcakes - We found a favorite pumpkin cupcake made by JP's Cupcakery a premier specialty cupcake resource in Raleigh. Pumpkin cheesecake square from Annalore's German Bakery at the NC State Farmers Market - This dessert from the German bakery under the tent at the State Farmers Market is out of this world delicious for a subtle sweetness. A graham cracker crust is topped with whirled pumpkin puree and creamy cheese. The crowning glory is a mix of oats and crushed pecans. The combination is not too sweet or rich, allowing you to indulge with less guilt.
