Bad Is Good - Charlotte-based Bad Daddy's Burger Bar Opens at Seaboard Station

Bad is Good:  "Like, the word gets around and people can't stay away!"Bad Daddy's Burger Bar    Perhaps Bad Bad Leroy Brown was talking about the latest burger establishment to take a stronghold in Raleigh ... Bad Daddy's Burger Bar (opened last week in Seaboard Station across from Tyler's Tap Room).  Based out of Charlotte, Bad Daddy's is migrating east with a well established "rep" for amazing burgers, scratch kitchen ingredients, and homemade ice cream milkshakes.  Combine that with their famous Fried Pickles, Giant Chopped Salads, and a bar stocked with locals, crafts, and "Spiked Milkshakes and Lemonades", it is clear that the urban dictionary is right ..."Bad" Means "Good".

Created Their Own Style: That's good because BadBad Daddy's Burger Bar - Shakes   Daddy's Burger Bar faces a lot of competition in the crowded upscale burger / bar scene.  However,  one visit will put to rest the notion that this is another wannabe.  This is a chef-driven restaurant that frets over every ingredient and condiment.  Case in point, even the coleslaw has a unique crunch and delectable spice.  It is no wonder that they've won numerous "Best Of" awards in Charlotte.  The atmosphere is cozy, but vibrant with comfortable seating, colorful dcor, and a friendly and accommodating wait staff.  The initial Buzz has been all positive and we heartily agree.  Another reason to head downtown!

Burgers - From Basic to Bad Ass:  Bad Daddy's wants you to build your own starting with a base Bad Daddy's Burger    selection of fresh ground custom beef, tuna, chicken, black bean, or buffalo.  Choose from a smorgasbord of toppings, cheeses, and condiments and you really have a burger "Your Way".  Of course, you can also order one of their "pre-named" offerings, from the Basic Burger (6 oz) to the Bad Ass (10 oz of sizzling flavor).  The meat is cooked to order (a freshly ground custom beef blend of hanger steak, chuck and brisket) and burger orders are served with a choice of sides including Fries, House Slaw, Sweet Potato Fries, and House Made Potato Chips.  The starters (Fried Pickles, Sliders, Chile, etc.) are delicious and set the party mood.  And the Old Fashioned Milk Shakes (made with homemade ice cream) will clearly float your boat.   Portions are generous so make sure you come prepared to share.  Menu

Everyone Fits in Bad Daddy's:  This burger bar is equally suited for business lunches, family outings, or game day and night gatherings (every seat has a big screen view).  There is aBad Daddy's Burger Bar - Fried Pickles full page menu of local & craft beer, wine offerings and spiked milkshakes.  There's also outside patio seating for warm weather days.  (note: It may be close to 70 by Friday).  Bad Daddy's is open every day starting at 11am.

Bad Daddy's Burger Bar:  Location: Seaboard Station - 111 Seaboard Avenue, Raleigh; Hours: Sun-Thurs 11am - 10pm; Fri-Sat 11am-11pm; Contact: 919.747.9163, Website; Menu; Awards

Owner and lifetime runner and avid marathoner Jim Micheels opened Raleigh Running Outfitters with his wife, Carolyn nine years ago in Raleigh and now in Cary as well. Their intent was to introduce the performance running products they loved and depended on to runners in the growing Triangle area, to present them to fellow athletes with a level of customer service, connection, and camaraderie that had been formerly unknown.

Today, Raleigh Running Outfitters still strives to serve as a retailer to which all runners can go for honest, expert advice on product performance, training and racing, injury avoidance, and athletic excellence.

And running shoes? That's their primary language. With more than 60 different styles of racing and training shoes from all the major manufacturers, Raleigh Running Outfitters is versed in shoes. They carry only the Raleigh Running Outfitters performance models that are best for running, and their staff personally tests and evaluates them in order to provide meaningful advise when you're selecting shoes.  Plus, they use technologically advanced Video Gait Analysis to make specific recommendations for any correction your shoe should provide. Using high-speed video and slow motion/still imaging, they are trained to analyze your stride, ankle motion, and foot strike to measure your degree of pronation.  Then, as you test different shoes on their treadmill, they'll help you select the best shoe for your biomechanical needs.

Come Run with Them - Raleigh Running Outfitters hosts a training run every Thursday starting at 6:15 pm.  Typical routes include a run on the Capital Area Greenway, just over a half-mile from the store. For a hill challenge, the group runs through the North Hills area and back to the store.  After an easy warm up, the team completes about 6 to 8 miles of up-tempo-paced miles followed by a cool down.  All abilities are welcome to the runs.  Please bring a reflective device and/or flashlight to ensure your safety after nightfall.

The Beltline Buzz items are selected by our editors.  No one can pay to be featured on The Beltline Buzz..  That's what advertising is for, and it's always labeled as such.  Selling ourselves (literally) would destroy the legitimacy, integrity, and fun of  The Beltline Buzz.  Plus, we'd never earn your trust that way.  So we'll never make a dime off your meal at a restaurant nor a penny from the sale of the latest accessory we told you about.

That said, on occasion, we will send out "Dedicated" e-mails on behalf of sponsors.  You'll recognize them from the subject line: "The Beltline Buzz Dedicated E-mail."  Yes, these are paid for.  And, no, we would never sell our subscriber list to anyone.  Not for any amount of money.

We hope that you continue to enjoy your Beltline Buzz.  We look forward to delivering it.
