Life Christian Counseling Network | January 2013 Newsletter

Warmest Winter Greetings!

Warm greetings and a happy new year to you and your family!  As things are getting back to normal after the holidays, sometimes we find that our problems are right there waiting for us. Take comfort in Matthew 28:20b: "And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age."

Our prayer for you is that 2013 will be a year of new beginnings and will bring resolution of old concerns.

God Bless,

The Life Christian Counseling Family

Featured Counselor
Linda Kline-Lau, NCC, MA

Linda Kline-Lau has a passion for working with hurting people and a desire to help them resolve their core issues so that they can become all that God designed them to be. Her goal is to help people uncover the true sources of "the chains that bind them" and the pain each person carries so that they can be healed, break free and live according to God's good plan for them. She strongly believes that true healing can only come through the power and intervention of our Lord, Jesus Christ and the work of the Holy Spirit.

In her personal faith-journey and her own quest to overcome depression and self-esteem issues, Linda has gained valuable life experience in many areas. These areas include experiencing the death of a parent, loss through suicide, eating disorders, anger management, relationship issues, divorce, marital counseling, and numerous lessons on life in a blended family. Linda believes that the adversities of life and her ever-deepening relationship with God are all part of His plan to prepare her to carry out His work by helping others.

Upcoming Event!
LCCN Welcomes Leslie Vernick in May!

Leslie Vernick is a well known and highly respected Christian counselor, author, and speaker on the topic of difficult and destructive relationships. Pastors, leaders, counselors, and people struggling with the effects of destructive relationships have found her work to be extremely helpful and will benefit from our upcoming workshop.

Save the date! Leslie will be presenting a May 4th seminar on emotionally destructive relationships in the Church and in Christian homes. We will be presenting some of Leslie's thoughts in our newsletters leading up to the May workshop.

Her newest book, The Emotionally Destructive Relationship, is an incredible resource for those who find themselves, or ones they love, in a destructive relationship.

Dr. Chris Buckingham, Executive Director, says, "I have used this book with many clients who have found great freedom once they understand the principles Leslie teaches."

"I am so very grateful Leslie wrote this book for those of us in difficult relationships. She shares with candor and comfort how to ask the right questions, seek help, get healthy and stay strong - whether or not the difficult person in your life changes." -Amazon Review

Closing Remarks

ceb pic at natl galleryPreparing for this new year has provided new clarity at Life Christian Counseing. More than ever, we recognize that LCCN's mission is threefold: First and foremost, we provide Christian counseling, coaching, and consultation. Second, we are a major resource for pastors and leaders who need a safe place to process their own cares and concerns about their marriages, families, and ministries. Third, we are a leader in offering advanced Christian clinical training which includes our expanding internship program.

We're grateful that God continues to build and expand our practice enabling us to spend thousands of hours each year with individuals, couples, and families who want to deal with mental health from a Christian, Biblical basis. If you're struggling, let us help you. Whether you're in DC, Maryland, or Virginia, we have someone qualified who is looking forward to working with you.

Blessings,

Christine Buckingham, PhD, LCPC, NCC
