Families Make the Difference

Families Together, Inc. founded in 1982, serves as the Parent Training and Information Center for Kansas and the Family to Family Health Information Center for Kansas and provides opportunities for families to come together and meet other families who are navigating the special education and disability services maze.  Each year, Families Together, Inc. provides, without fees, direct support to more than 12,000 Kansas families.  more on page 8.

Celebrating 30 years

In 1986, the Federal Department of Education, Office of Special Education Programs (OSEP), awarded Families Together, Inc. a grant to become Kansas' first Parent Training and Information Center (PTI) to provide support, information and training to Kansas families and their sons and daughters with a disability. more on page 1

Child being bullied

This is our story as told by our brave fifth grader, Cassidy. It is about bullying that began as early as kindergarten, but came to a stop on March 14, 2012. The after effect continues to this day, as Cassidy is home schooled now and the fear of what happened seven months ago is still fresh in this fifth grader's mind. more on page 2

Historia de la familia

Esta es nuestra historia contada por nuestra valiente estudiante de quinto grado, Cassidy. Se trata de acoso escolar que comenzó en kindergarten, pero llegó a su fin el 14 de marzo de 2012. KDHE & KUMC Launch New Website for Young Adults with Disabilities

F2F logo The Children and Youth with Special Health Care Needs (CYSHCN) program at the Kansas Department of Health and Environment (KDHE) and the Center for Child Health and Development at KU Medical Center collaborated to develop a website to assist Kansas parents and professionals in planning the transition of their young adult into adult life.  more on page 7
